Today I didn’t have to wake up early—but I was blessed that I got to.

I got up before my kids, while they were still sleeping, and started cooking breakfast so that when they woke up, everything would already be prepared. That way, I could just sit with them and spend time together.

And it hit me…

Today, while you were sleeping, God was not.

He was already up—mixing, heating, preparing, arranging things just for you. And not just so you could receive what He prepared, but because He’s waiting… wanting to sit with you and spend time with you.

What an awesome God we serve.

The Creator of the universe—the Creator of you and me—is not distant or distracted. He’s present. He’s intentional. And He’s waiting for us.

In Jonah 2:9 the Bible says that Jonah gave thanks. He was still in the belly of the fish. After this is when God commanded the fish to spit him out. So while undoubtedly we have so many things to be grateful for already maybe today go ahead and give God thanks for somethings that haven’t yet happened. And see what God will do!
