We cannot continually give from a soul that never receives.

Let Christ meet you in your own need, fill the empty places, and let love overflow from fullness rather than exhaustion. “Whoever believes in me… rivers of living water will flow from within them.” — John 7:38. The free weekly devotional is linked in our bio.

Saint Ignatius of Antioch

DAY 6

Blessed holy servant of God, St. Ignatius of Antioch, we pray today for protection of the faithful throughout the world.

Intercede for us! Your faith in God was so great that you were a witness of Christ’s love even though you were persecuted. You protected christians and were publicly martyred defending your faith in Christ.
Protect persecuted christians throughout the world. Give them the courage to defend their faith in Christ and be witnesses of His love. Please pray for the protection of….

(Mention your intentions)

These intentions bring us to you, seeking your intercession for courage and protection.

We are humbled by your faith in Christ and your desire to be unified with Him. Pray for us that we may grow in faith and love of Jesus Christ our Savior. And so, we ask that you pray for us…

Pray for us, that our we will glorify God through our trials

Most holy Saint Ignatius of Antioch, we know that you are a powerful intercessor because you sacrificed your life for your faith in God. We pray, that just as your glorious passion brought you eternal splendor, so it may also be for us unending protection.

Help us to live our lives by your example of courage and faith. Pray for our physical and spiritual protection, but pray even more-so that we may become as close to God as you are.

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end.

Amen.

What if we approached every Holy Communion like it could change our lives? 🤍

Today we celebrate the feast of St. Carlo Acutis—a young saint whose love for Jesus in the Eucharist continues to draw hearts toward heaven.

Carlo reminds us that holiness can begin right where we are. We don’t have to wait until we’re older or life slows down. We can make room for Jesus today.

In the Holy Eucharist, we receive Jesus Himself—Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity. When we receive Him with faith and an open heart, His grace helps us become more like Him: more loving, more patient, more willing to serve.

Let’s honor Carlo today by making time for Holy Mass or Eucharistic Adoration. Bring Jesus your distractions, your struggles, and your desire to become a saint.

St. Carlo Acutis, pray for us! 🙏

If you could ask Jesus to transform one part of your heart today, what would it be?

In an era of anti-Catholicism and anti-immigrant nativism, Blessed Michael McGivney chose the Catholic explorer Christopher Columbus as the Order’s namesake in 1882. In an essay in the September 2020 issue of Columbia, historian William J. Connell explains, “For [the Knights] and many others, Columbus was celebrated as a figure of civic unity and a symbol that immigrants, particularly Catholics, possessed a rightful share in American identity.”

St. Carlo Acutis
Saint of the Day
Patron Saint of: Youth, computer programmers, and the internet
Feast Day: October 12

“For the first time in history we will see a saint dressed in jeans, sneakers, and a sweater…” These are some of the words spoken on the occasion of the beatification of Blessed Carlo Acutis in October of 2020. St. Carlo was born on May 3, 1991 and grew up in Italy. He enjoyed amateur computer programing and video games. From an early age he had a great devotion to the Holy Eucharist. He researched sites of Eucharistic miracles and then created a website to categorize them. This website still exists and has also been turned into a traveling exhibition of Eucharistic Miracles which has been seen around the world. St. Carlo Acutis suffered from leukemia and died on October 10, 2006 at the age of 15. He is remembered for his cheerfulness and compassion for those in need. He is the patron of computer programmers and youth and was beatified on behalf of Pope Francis on October 10, 2020. His exposed relics can be viewed in Assisi. His feast day is October 12th.
