🗡️David had a clear chance to harm Saul, but he chose mercy and cut a piece of his robe instead.

📖“Then the men of David said to him, ‘This is the day of which the LORD said to you, “Behold, I will deliver your enemy into your hand, that you may do to him as it seems good to you.”’ And David arose and secretly cut off a corner of Saul’s robe.” - 1 Samuel 24:4

🙏David knew God promised he would be king because Samuel had already chosen him. However, Saul was standing in his way. David could have tricked himself into thinking that killing Saul was just a fast way to get what God promised. Instead, David chose to wait and trust God rather than force it to happen himself.

🙌David understood that just because you can do something, it does not mean God wants you to. True power lives in self-control. It takes immense strength to pass up a chance for revenge. Trusting God to defend you without your help takes faith.

💓Stop trying to force things to happen when God has already promised to take care of them.
