For the past few weeks, I have been closely following the news and social media posts about the situation in Palestine. I've come across numerous impactful messages from various professionals throughout the country who are diligently monitoring the ongoing events. Many of them have also recommended specific content and profiles to follow.
It's important to note that some followers have inquired about my initial silence on this matter and what actions I'm taking. This entire episode has been startling because, for the past 75 years, we've collectively remained largely silent about the suffering endured by the Palestinian people. While the current situation may be more prominently in the spotlight, the underlying suffering and hardships they've faced have remained constant. The Palestinians have been witnessing the many facts of war on a daily basis, for a very, very long time.
To anyone who may have questioned my commitment to this cause, please understand that the most effective and I emphasize the only effective way to support the suffering Palestinians, who are losing their loved ones on a daily basis, is to turn to the prayer mat and beseech Allah for His mercy. Nothing else but my ibadah (worship) has provided solace and tranquility in the face of this heartbreaking situation. To that note, in this time of crisis, while worship is crucial, it’s also important to recognize the additional actions and efforts from others are truly needed.
I baked this cake with the most audacious yet entirely attainable dream - a dream that, if it is Allah's will, can come true: the freedom of Palestine.
As I look at this cake, I envision the rose as a symbol of their future, thriving and blooming vibrantly, where children no longer have to endure fear and suffering.
Let us all engage in actions that bring recognition to this cause and continue to seek Allah's guidance for the entire Ummah. Ameen.
May Allah bestow His blessings upon the departed, the innocent martyrs, granting them the sweetness of Jannah (Paradise) and grant them eternal peace, ultimately and without end. Ameen.
