The High Energy Tour 2020 has officially kicked-off!
After competing in The Dynamic Discs Open; Philo and Gregg stopped off in Des Moines, Iowa and had 80 players make it out on a Monday!
Big thanks to all the competitors, and supporters who came to participate.

There is no better time to profile Mr. Alex Russell!
The third year touring pro from Vancouver, Washington has certainly made a splash in his first two years on tour, & has no plans of slowing down as he plans to tour full time in 2020.

Relatively new to disc golf, but quick to the jump he took his first ever win in 2014. At the time he was playing the advanced division, but he quickly moved up to playing with the pros, officially going pro in September of 2015, & winning his first pro event shortly thereafter.

Disc golf is all about family in Alex’s case, since the beginning of his time playing. When he’s not on tour, he is often found playing disc with his father and 3 brothers at leverich park.

Alex has an immense amount of skill; a combination of both sidearm and backhand power are highlighted with his strong putting game, just part of the reason we’re happy to have him on the bill at The High Energy Tour.

It makes sense that he was recently promoted to Innova’s “Champion team” with his player rating currently at 1028. He’s certainly a player on the rise and poised to add a big win to his resumé soon!

Our next player profile is featuring Ezra Aderhold! PDGA # 121715

Ezra's first time playing disc golf all started with "a Wahoo and a couple ultimate frisbees" while playing with his brothers at the local park in Aberdeen, South Dakota.

He remembers 300-400 foot holes being considered a par 4 at the time, but you wouldn't think that after watching him throw discs these days.
"It wasn't until watching Paul McBeth play the Wintertime Open, when I realized the amount of skill the pros actually have."

After that event, Ezra made himself an ultimatum: "I was either going to take it seriously and try to get to the pro level, or not play much at all."
He has been on steady path of improvement since making his decision, with a runner up for rookie of the year in 2019, he made a splash by winning 5 events, and only missing the cash in his first open event.

After only 6 months of playing tournaments, he decked out his Toyota Prius to be his new home on the road, and is hitting the tour full time in 2020. Keep your eyes peeled for some huge distance shots, and a big smile as he continues his journey in Disc Golf.
You may potentially see a can of beans being prepared in his Prius, as he eats them for lunch almost religiously!
