Thank you to the good women of our Philoptochos chapter #2048 for baking fresh Paximathia, Melomakarouna and Koulourakia for those currently being held at the St. Louis County Jail.
The inmates will have a holiday celebration on Saturday, Dec. 16 and our Greek pasties are sure to satisfy! 🎄 🤶🏼

Glory to God for all things!

When women and children find themselves in a bad situation, it can be hard to find help. While family or friends may be able to help, sometimes, they can't This is when Safe Haven Shelter & Resource Center can step in. They describe themselves as a place that "... provides services to women, children, and all survivors whose lives have been affected by physical, emotional, sexual, and economic abuse. Some survivors who use our services are in physical danger. Others are living with controlling partners in relationships that are emotionally abusive." Our women's group here at 12 Apostles, the Philoptochos (Friends of the Poor), wanted to make a difference in our community. So, just today, they made a $1,000 donation to Safe Haven. May God bless the fruit of their work!

🇺🇦 Let’s help our Orthodox brethren in Ukraine. Our Philoptochos chapter is accepting donations now! Thank you!

Today, I am announcing the GOARCH Ukrainian Relief Fund, established in collaboration with the IOCC, aiming to raise $1 million for both immediate and long-term support of the Ukrainian people. Early today, we donated $100,000 to the Ecumenical Patriarchate, on behalf of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America, to support the efforts of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine.

We join our spirit to the spirit of His All-Holiness and exhort all our Faithful: offer prayers and tangible support for all the Ukrainian People, those of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine and those of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church under the Moscow Patriarchate, those of the Ukrainian Catholic and Jewish communities, and all who find themselves in the dire circumstances of war.

Welcome to New York!!! It is with great enthusiasm that the National Philoptochos announces the 2022 National Philoptochos Biennial Convention Chair, Anita Kartalopoulos and Co-Chairs Jeannie Ranglas, Jennifer Constantin, and Eleni Constantinides.

This is a particularly poignant year as National Philoptochos celebrates its 90th Anniversary. National Philoptochos along with chapters across the country have been impacting local communities, taking on national philanthropic endeavors and offering outreach worldwide for 90 years.

The Clergy-Laity Congress theme, in honor of the 100th Anniversary Centennial Celebration of the Archdiocese, is also one that reverberates throughout our chapters as we enter the third year of a pandemic, we come together with “Legacy, Renewal, Unity.” It is a time to reflect on what local communities and the world have been through and to come together with hope in the present, in order to plan for the future!
