The cemetery is nestled among 200 year old tree's over looking Catfish Creek . Open to all faiths

Our first bench installed at Rockdale Cemetery.❤️❤️❤️
We thank the kind donations and contributions towards our Rockdale Restoration & Preservation Project.

Our new iron gates will be installed in the upcoming weeks. We also have an Eagle Scout candidate working on a memorial flower bed & sitting area in the upcoming weeks.

We thank the community for your support of our mission. If interested in donating a bench or supplies towards repairing the old stones etc.please contact us.

Memorial Day note....

Flying the flag at half staff on Memorial Day from dawn until noon represents our nations collective grief for all who have paid the ultimate sacrifice defending our great nation.

Raising the flag at noon symbolizes our nations resolve to live on and protect the freedom secured by our fallen heros.

Thank you to our cemetery caretaker John P. Riedl for going out to the Rockdale Cemetery before sunrise this morning to honor our fallen service people.

Rockdale Cemetery in Dubuque is looking great and ready for the Memorial Day weekend. Thank you to all of our Veterans.

Yesterday & today the tree removal company removed the large tree that came down in the wind storm a few weeks ago. We also had an old dying tree that sat next to the church fellowship hall because we feared it would come down on the building or it will take out some of our really tall stones when the next storm hits.

Thank you to the kind and generous people who donated to help with the unexpected expense. We appreciate it so much!

Spring is here so now we will start picking up the pieces, fixing what we can and moving forward on our mission.

Well our hearts are a little broken today. We had one of the large 100+ year old trees in the cemetery come down with this wind. It has ruined some of our 100+ year old gravestones that we have worked so hard restoring😪😪.

We won't know the full damage until the tree is completely removed.
We are quickly learning that as much as we love trees they are not our friend at a cemetery.

Donations always accepted and very much appreciated as we have these unexpected expenses.

What does the cemetery's caretakkers do when they have free time on vacation? We go check out cemeteries to see what we can learn.
Today in San Benito TX we visited old country music legend Freddie Fenders final resting place.
