Concluding our summaries of the fall trip, here are videos of Illinois and Missouri.

Illinois
God blessed us with a Christian guide named Joel, who showed us many God-centered aspects of the capitol not usually included in the tours. He pointed out some special artwork that reflected Christian values of faith, hope, charity, and love. He also told us that others were often there praying too. We found so much encouragement in knowing that so many other people were also praying for our country.

In Missouri, we stayed with a lovely host family, the Wolfes. They provided us with beautiful lodging and delicious food. We even had a cookout one night with a bonfire. We attended church with them on Sunday and all agreed it was a true blessing. The message focused on God’s word, and they even addressed the upcoming vote on abortion in their state. Afterward, we went to several churches in the area and had great prayer.

This past October, we completed the first phase of our Capitol Prayer Campaign. In total, we have visited 29 capitals, including Washington, D.C.

Starting this February, we are beginning phase two. Our trip will start in Little Rock, Arkansas. We will visit Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; Austin, Texas; Santa Fe, New Mexico; Phoenix, Arizona, before arriving in Sacramento, California. To make this happen, we need your help! We are raising $5,000 for this leg of our continental journey.

Support righteousness, justice, and mercy for our nation.

Hey! In case you've just met or found us, here's a summary on what we do as we visit each state to intercede for our nation and how it is going so far:

Lisa researches the state and learns about upcoming proposed legislation before we arrive. Upon arriving, we pray inside each capitol to bind up any and all spiritual strongholds to set the captives free and see God's will done in each state. We also sing and declare God's unending Truth into the atmosphere, with confidence in His sovereignty, power, and goodness.

Secondly, we set up our prayer table near the capitol to interact with passersby. So far we have met with residents, legislators, judges, and government officials. In addition, we have had many chances to give the Gospel, with several accepting Jesus as Savior on the spot—praise the Lord. We have encouraged fellow believers, and have been encouraged ourselves. Many have said, "God has sent you," bolstered and comforted by our presence. Be comforted, wherever you are, because we are just a representation of what is going on in so many hearts and minds in our nation.

Thirdly, we visit churches in the area and pray for them and their denominations. We pray for God to strengthen them in every way so that they can shine brightly in their respective cities. We have entered churches as they were facing problems and were privileged to support our brothers and sisters in prayer.

Here's the team's log from the trip to West Virginia in October:

October 16
Charleston, West Virginia

On our first day in West Virginia, we met with Randy Ledsome, a pastor from Elk River Nazarene Church (https://www.facebook.com/ElkRiverNazareneChurch/). We learned about one of the church’s ministries at another location in downtown Charleston. After a teenager was killed down the street, they held a vigil, during which Randy sensed a deep need in the church because its atmosphere was dark and unwelcoming. Afterwards, he felt led to initiate a ministry at the downtown church, where they currently offer a drug recovery program to transform lives in response to the state’s opioid crisis. In addition, the original church now has a flourishing Awana program, which provides discipleship for children and youth. Overall, he was very encouraged and joined us in prayer.

In the Capitol, we prayed for the needs of West Virginia in both the House of Delegates and the Senate. We met Steve Harrison, the clerk of the House of Delegates. He welcomed us and told us about a program of reading the entire Bible on the steps of the capitol. We also went to the Supreme Courtroom and prayed there. Dan and Lisa spoke with a senator who was head of the Finance Committee. He told us about writing to Warren Buffet, who sponsored a new 3-billion-dollar titanium industry in WV.

We are glad to report that Mary and Stephen Setliff, Bobby’s sister and brother-in-law, stopped by for a visit while we were at the capitol. We are also grateful to Lydia and Dakota, friends of Becky from high school, who were our hosts for dinner on Tuesday night.

October 17
Charleston, West Virginia

On our second day, we set up the prayer table outside the capitol. Our visitors included:
Matt: attended Anglican Church, and his wife just had a baby
Chris: girlfriend had a baby and was suffering from postpartum depression. He and his girlfriend weren’t married because of financial issues. Bobby encouraged him to trust God for his finances and marry his girlfriend.
Iris: 5-years-old. Doctor’s can’t figure out what is wrong with her. She is at Duke University Hospital.
Jenny: shared with us about life in a coal-mining community.
Stacy: just diagnosed with terminal cancer. A fellow believer with a very positive attitude.

We thank God for all who came to the table and shared with us.

Afterwards, we drove to Columbus, Ohio. Stay tuned!

Here's a video of our trip to Richmond, Virginia. On the first day, we headed to the capitol where we were joined by our dear friend, Brenda Lackie!

Afterwards, we visited several churches including the University of Richmond's chapel and the church where Patrick Henry gave his famous speech, "Give Me Liberty or Give Me Death."

One thing we noticed was the amount of churches that were open for us to enter and pray in—much more than in any other state that we have visited so far.

On the second day, we went to Monroe Park by VCU and set up the prayer table. We met a lot of students and some homeless people—many of whom were going through difficult times. We were thankful to be able to pray with those we met.

Also, thank you especially to our hosts, David and Joan, for the lovely and generous hospitality.
