PODD church

PODD church We want you to be a part of our vibrant church community! The mission of PODD is to love God, to love others, and to magnify the name of Jesus Christ.

The vision of our church is to be a place where HOPE is found! Our prayer is that you would be blessed and strengthened by the power of Jesus Christ and that you will live a life of abundance in fellowship, joy and liberty. The Pentecostals of Dover, Delaware are here for you. It is more than a church. It is a fellowship of believers coming together to declare the glory of the Lord and celebrate J

esus as King. We study the Word, practice what we learn and in the process grow together. May God richly bless you!

We will be in person tomorrow!
However, we do want to use caution — there is still snow and ice in some areas of the parking lot.

If you are able to safely make it in person, we would love to see you 🤍
If not, please don’t feel pressured — you are more than welcome to join us online.

Your safety always comes first. Please do what’s best for you and your family, and we’ll be here either way!

Created for Rest

Reading: Genesis 2:1–3; Psalm 23:1–3

Devotional:
From the very beginning, God established rest as a foundational rhythm of life. On the seventh day, He ceased from His work—not because He was exhausted, but to model a divine pattern for His creation.

Remarkably, humanity’s first full day was a day of rest. This reveals a profound truth: we are designed to work from rest, not for rest. Rest isn’t something we earn through productivity; it’s a gift God offers freely.

When the Good Shepherd makes us lie down in green pastures, He’s not punishing us—He’s protecting us.

Today, consider how you view rest. Is it a reward you’re striving toward, or a grace you’re receiving? God invites you to begin your week from a place of peace, trusting that He has already provided everything you need.

🚨 Service Update — This Coming Sunday

Due to the forecasted winter snowstorm, PODD Church will be canceling in-person service this coming Sunday.

Our first priority is the safety of everyone who attends and serves, and we want to ensure no one feels pressured to travel in unsafe conditions.

✨ Please stay tuned for a message from Pastor Daniel this weekend

📱 We will also share a message on Sunday at our normal service time.

Thank you for your understanding and continued support.
Stay safe, stay warm, and we look forward to worshiping together again soon. 💙❄️

Reading: Luke 4:14–21

Devotional:
In the synagogue, Jesus made a bold announcement: “Today” the Lord’s favor has arrived. Not someday. Not after you improve. Today.

A lot of believers live like God’s favor is something they’re still waiting on—like it will show up once they pray more, perform better, or “get it together.”

But in Christ, God’s favor isn’t a prize you earn. It’s a gift you receive.
You don’t practice faith to win God’s approval. His favor has already been freely given through Jesus.

So the change God is doing in you isn’t about proving you’re worthy. It’s about learning to live from what Christ has already accomplished.

Stop striving for what you already have.

The question isn’t, “Does God favor me?” He does.
The real question is: Will you walk boldly in that favor today?

Reflection:
Where are you still trying to earn what God has already freely given you?

Reading: Acts 1:8; Luke 4:1, 14

Devotional:
Notice the pattern in Jesus’ ministry:
• Anointed by the Spirit
• Led by the Spirit
• Empowered by the Spirit

That’s the same way we’re meant to live.

You can’t live the Christian life on your own strength. When you try to serve God, love people well, or resist temptation without the Holy Spirit, you end up exhausted and defeated.

But here’s the hope: the same Holy Spirit who led Jesus through the wilderness and empowered His ministry lives in you.

So stop trying to force spiritual fruit through willpower alone.
Instead:
• Surrender to the Spirit’s anointing
• Follow His leading
• Trust His power

And watch Him help you do what felt impossible on your own.

Reflection:
Where have you been relying on your own strength instead of the Holy Spirit?
