We are a full-gospel church made up of people pursuing a transforming relationship with God. Freedom Church is a 5 year old church in the heart of Dickson, TN.

Online Services: https://freedom-church-dickson-5ce76.nucleus-preview.com/sermons We are a multi-racial and multi-generational. We have nursery every Sunday and Children's Church most Sunday mornings, with the exception of one family service per month. Youth service (grades 6th - 12th grade) meets on Wednesday nights at 6:45. Men's, Women's, J.O.Y. Fellowship (50+), Young Adults (18-30) all meet for fellowship, Bible study throughout the year.

Devotional — Five Ways to Navigate a Season Well

"Yet those who wait for the Lord will gain new strength; they will mount up with wings like eagles, they will run and not get tired, they will walk and not become weary." — Isaiah 40:31

Sunday gave us five practical anchors for navigating seasons of life — especially the hard ones.

Use your time wisely. Every season has opportunities that won't always come back. Be present, be diligent, and know that God is with you in it.

Let go of the past. God told His people through Isaiah: I'm already doing something new — do you not see it? We miss what He's doing ahead of us when we're too busy looking behind us. Old mindsets, old habits, old comfort zones — some things have to go so the new thing can come.

Keep your confidence in the Lord. God told Joshua three times: be strong and courageous. That's not a suggestion — it's a choice we make every day, especially when discouragement tries to set in. Study the Word, meditate on it, and let it become the voice that's loudest in your head.

Overcome the negative. The Israelites had miracles in front of them and still grumbled their way out of the Promised Land. We overcome by the blood of the Lamb and the word of our testimony — by speaking what God has done, not what the enemy is saying.

Steward this season well. Don't rush past where you are trying to get to where you're going. God is putting into you right now what you'll need for what comes next. Be faithful here, and trust Him with what's ahead.

Challenge for today: Which of these five is hardest for you right now? Take one honest step toward it today — and remember, the joy isn't just in the destination. It's in the journey.

Bring your own food, drinks, outdoor chairs, pop-up tents, and anything else you may need for the afternoon. The church will provide coolers of water for everyone and co****le. We will gather near the swings and playground area to enjoy time together with sand volleyball, games, and great fellowship.

It’s a wonderful opportunity to relax, connect with others, and enjoy God's beautiful creation together.

Five Stones for the Battle

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take." — Proverbs 3:5-6
David went into the valley with five smooth stones and a slingshot. Not armor. Not a sword. Just what God had already put in his hands — and total confidence in the One who sent him.
Sunday we were reminded that we need five stones in our own satchel as we face the giants in front of us.
The first is faith — believing what we haven't seen yet, refusing to be paralyzed by fear, and taking God at His word. The second is trust — because faith believes, but trust surrenders. It puts hands and feet to what we say we believe. The third is a song — worship is a weapon. Don't let the enemy steal your song. It's your battle cry. The fourth is daily connection with Jesus — not just calling on Him in emergencies, but carrying His presence with you everywhere you go. And the fifth is connection with others — isolation is one of the enemy's greatest tools. We were made for one another.
David only used one stone, but he came prepared for more. That's not a lack of faith — that's wisdom. Come prepared.
Challenge for today: Which of the five stones feels weakest in your life right now? Take one intentional step toward strengthening it today — whether that's opening your Bible, reaching out to someone in your church, or simply putting on a song of praise and letting it shift your atmosphere.

Facing Goliath: The Valley of Decision

"When I am afraid, I put my trust in you. In God, whose word I praise, in God I have put my trust; I shall not be afraid." — Psalm 56:3-4

Sunday we looked at one of the most familiar stories in all of Scripture — David and Goliath. But the focus wasn't on the hero or the giant. It was on the valley between them.

The Valley of Elah, where this battle took place, means strength in Hebrew. But before David showed up, it was a place of paralysis. Goliath had been taunting the Israelite army twice a day for forty days, and not one soldier would move. The giant wasn't just physically imposing — he had gotten inside their heads.

That's what our giants do too. Whether it's a health battle, a broken relationship, financial pressure, anxiety, or fear — the enemy's strategy is always to get us stuck in the valley. Because if he can keep us there, he limits everything God created us to be.

But here's what Sunday reminded us: the valley is also where God does some of His deepest work. It's where faith is built, where character is forged, and where we learn who He really is. David didn't arrive at that battlefield by accident — his steps were ordered by God. And so are yours.

Challenge for today: What giant has been taunting you? Instead of focusing on its size, ask God to shift your perspective — to see it as an opportunity for Him to be glorified.
