One of the Most Dangerous Sins in the Church Is Gossip

One of the enemy’s most effective tactics against the church has always been division. Instead of taking our concerns directly to the person involved, many times we speak to others first, allowing frustration, assumptions, and gossip to spread rather than resolving the issue itself.

Scripture teaches us a better way. In Matthew 18:15–17, Jesus instructs us to go directly to our brother when there is conflict. This approach is meant to bring correction, restoration, and unity not division.

When we ignore God’s process and handle conflict according to emotion instead of wisdom, relationships suffer, congregations weaken, and unnecessary separation begins to grow.

If we truly want unity and spiritual growth within the church, we must be willing to address problems with honesty, maturity, and love rather than allowing them to spread in secret.

There are many reasons why a congregation could have fallen apart over the years.

People leave. Dedication fades. Trials arise. Challenges come that could easily discourage the work from continuing.

Yet through every obstacle, God has continued to provide.

As we reflect on 101 years of His provision toward this congregation, we are reminded that God remains faithful even through seasons of difficulty. What man may see as limitation, God can still sustain through His grace and guidance.

This message is not only about a congregation, it is about all of us. No matter where you are in life or what challenges stand before you, God is still able to provide if we remain faithful and stay the course.

As written in Philippians 4:19, “And my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.”

God has provided before, and He will continue to provide.

This weekend was truly unforgettable as we celebrated the 101st Anniversary of Linwood Church of Christ.

The turnout was a tremendous blessing, and we are deeply grateful for the love and support shown by our sister congregations, including Wyoming Ave. Church of Christ, Oakland Church of Christ, Russel Woods Church of Christ, and many more who came out to fellowship with us throughout the weekend.

We also want to extend a special thank you to the singing groups, including Highest Praise, Jesse H. Bishop Crusaders A Ca****la Choir, and all those who lifted their voices in praise and helped make this celebration so impactful.

A heartfelt thank you goes out to our moderators, leadership, members, volunteers, cooks and every individual who played a role in making this weekend possible. Reaching a milestone such as 101 years takes sacrifice, dedication, faith, and generations of commitment to the work of the Lord. We do not take that lightly.

We are also grateful for the powerful message delivered by brother Jeremy Flowers on Sunday regarding God’s provision. As we reflect on these 101 years, we are reminded that God has continually provided for this congregation, and we trust that He will continue to guide and sustain us in the years ahead.

To everyone who supported, attended, prayed, sang, served, and celebrated with us thank you. We love and appreciate you all, and we look forward to many more years of fellowship, faith, and growth together.

Honoring Your Mother Was Never Meant to Be a One-Day Practice

Honoring our mothers is more than a tradition for one Sunday out of the year, it is a commandment that carries from the Old Testament into the New Testament.

Even Jesus emphasized the importance of honoring one’s mother. While suffering on the cross, He still showed care and concern for His mother, as seen in John 19:26-27. His example reminds us that love, respect, and honor toward our mothers should be reflected consistently in our daily lives.

Mother’s Day is a beautiful opportunity to express gratitude, but the principle of honoring our mothers is something God intended for us to carry every day.
