As I was preparing to teach a Workshop on Social Justice & the Church for the MPBC convening at Hartford Memorial Baptist Church, I received word that former City Councilwoman Rev. Joann Watson (2003-2013) passed away! What a warrior for justice & a true Community advocate she was! She was also the 1st female Exec. Director of the Detroit Chapter NAACP! Lift her family & legacy in your prayers!👊🏾🙏🏾
