Pride says, "I got this."

(Spoiler: we usually don't, and pretending we do is exhausting.)

The gospel of Jesus offers a much better, simpler way. It says, 'No, you don't have it all together, but don't worry, you don't have to.' Admitting our limits opens the door to a completely free gift: grace.

And when we drop the performance and receive that grace, everything changes. It levels the playing field. It changes how we see ourselves, and it completely transforms how we look at and love the people around us.

You don't have to carry the weight of having it all figured out today. Take a breath. Grace is already yours.

Join us for this family event to create blankets for FARE's (Foster and Adoption Resource Exchange) Christmas Event.

My Very Own Blanket's mission is dedicated to warming the heart of every child and teen in the foster care system and in need with a handmade blanket or quilt, giving them a feeling of comfort, security and most of all, a SMILE. The cost of each blanket is $10.

We will be serving hot cocoa and cookies during this event. Hope you can join us and support this great cause during the holiday season.

Be honest: is it sometimes easier to write a check or send a quick Venmo than to actually sit, slow down, and listen to someone?

Pastor Calvin kept it incredibly real in this clip. True generosity is about so much more than what is in our bank accounts. It is about opening up our schedules, our attention, and our hearts to the people right in front of us.

Sometimes the most generous thing we can give is simply our presence. Even when we feel like we do not have much to offer financially, we still have something incredibly valuable: our time, our empathy, and who we are.

This week, let's practice loving generously in those small, everyday moments.

There is nothing quite like stepping out of the weekly rush and gathering together.

This past Sunday was such a beautiful reminder of why we live in community. From worshipping together together to watching our Beacon Kids learn about patience (with some very cute turtles), we loved every moment of following Jesus side by side.

No matter where you are on your journey (skeptics, seekers, and long-time travelers alike) there is a place for you here. Come exactly as you are this weekend.

It is so easy to get the order of things mixed up.

We use people to get things. We love objects that can't love us back. And we worry about money like it's the thing keeping the world spinning.

But what if we flipped the script?

Objects are meant to be used.
People are meant to be loved.
And God is meant to be worshiped.

When we get those three things in the right order, the pressure lifts. Money stops being a master and becomes a tool (a way to love people generously and live on mission).

If you've been feeling exhausted from chasing the next thing, take a breath. You don't have to carry that pressure alone.
