the One project

the One project celebrating the supremacy of Jesus

We are committed to the idea that a Jesus-driven, Jesus-bathed, Jesus-backed, Jesus-led, Jesus-filled, Jesus-powered, all-about-Jesus movement is the uncompromising directive from our past, the joy of our present, and hope for our future.

SHifT happens and compassion is a way to turn those difficult moments of change and create something good from it.

This is the challenge for followers of Jesus today. To show compassion where we don’t feel like we need to. To act with compassion for those who are on the margins and shadows of society. To do compassion when there is no benefit to us.

The cross was not a failure of His mission.
It was the fulfillment of it.

Christ could reign without ruling.
That truth could survive without force.
That the gospel did not need protection—it needed embodiment.

Jesus isn’t calling us to a mystical, ethereal connection. He’s calling us to something embodied. To be hands that defend the defenseless. To be feet that run toward injustice. To be the ones who show up when showing up costs you something. How has American Christianity become the group of people who support those who victimize the innocent, when we serve a Savior who was crucified as innocent.

Even if my faith could unlock some kind of holy inspiration that makes enabled me to be perfect, it would still be up to me to perform, and that’s not how the gift of the gospel works. To put it on me to perform, to be perfect and to earn righteousness is both blasphemy and heresy. The only reason I want to learn to be more like Christ is so other people might see me and wonder who I know and how they can get to know Him as well!
So my question is this: If I can be perfect and live without sinning, what in the world do I need a Savior for?

“Hurry and love are incompatible” - John Mark Cromer.

When the enterprise of church creates a commodity of consumption for those who belong, the formation of the body becomes narcissistic.

Temple space becomes about me and what I can gain from it, without regard for the outsider.
