Men of St Mary Parish,
On Friday September 6th at 6:00 AM in Marian Hall the St Mary That Man Is You! program is starting a brand new series called The Vision of Man Fully Alive. Breakfast is available at 5:30 AM.

As a preparation for this new year...See the TMIY Video here of the upcoming year: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pEqla7OGNZ8

This series is produced by Paradisus Dei, the creators of the original That Man Is You! program that ran at St Mary's from 2008 through 2013. There will be 9 speakers in total, including some old and new names you might be familiar with - Fr. Dave Pivonka from the Wild Goose series, Jason Evert (former St Mary Parishioner), Steve Bollman (series creator), and Dr. John Cavadini, to name a few, which include a former mob enforcer. Needless to say, it should be interesting.

The program's format will be familiar, basically the same as year's past; opening prayer, announcements, ~30 minute video, 30+ minutes of group discussion, closing prayer.

The Vision of Man Fully Alive (filmed Summer of 2018) enables men to experience authentic freedom as sons of God. Through living the three-fold mission of abiding presence, joyful service, and loving sacrifice, their hearts and homes will experience the joy that God desires. To sustain them on their spiritual journey, the men will be led directly to the three spiritual foods that Christ himself proclaims: The Eucharist, The Word of God, and The Will of God. The Vision of Man Fully Alive is 26 sessions for the year, 13 in the fall and 13 in the spring.

The fall semester objectives:
• Discover authentic Christian freedom, what they are freed from and what they are freed for.
• Develop a three-fold mission to a superabundant life.
• Encounter the three foods that Christ himself has revealed in the spiritual life.
• Enter into a deeper relationship with the Eucharist and the Word of God.
The spring semester objectives:
• Embrace the Will of God as the true desire of the heart.
• Identify the secrets to superabundant relationships.
• Understand the harmony of faith and science and answer some of the most misunderstood accusations to faith.
• Discover the Catholic vision of God’s grace in collaboration with hard work.
And as usual, there is no cost to the participants for attending the program. Please consider inviting a friend, father, son, grandfather, or grandson.

We look forward to seeing you on Friday.SEPTEMBER 6 2019! Blessings to you and your family,

The St Mary TMIY Core Team

Wherever you are in your spiritual life, Jesus Christ wants to encounter you right there and take you further.

Men of the St Mary TMIY Program,
Our next meeting is Friday March 15th at 6:00 AM. Breakfast is available starting at 5:30 AM.

Our current book discussion series is on a book by Peter Kreeft and Fr. Ronald Tacelli titled: Handbook of Christian Apologetics - Reasoned Answers to Questions of Faith. Our next meeting will be on Friday March 15th 6:00 AM when we will discuss the first half (1-10) of chapter 17, "Twenty Catholic Capstones to Christian Apologetics". Please see the description of the book below.

If you are interested in participating in this book discussion and would like a copy of the book, please order your book online at most any online book retailers; Amazon.

Handbook of Catholic Apologetics is the only book that categorizes and summarizes all the major arguments in support of the main Christian beliefs, including key distinctively Catholic doctrines. Also included is a Protestant-friendly treatment of Catholic-Protestant issues. The Catholic answers to Protestant questions show how Catholicism is the fullness of the Christian faith.
An expanded, Catholic edition of the popular book Handbook of Christian Apologetics, Handbook of Catholic Apologetics is full of the wisdom and wit, clarity and insight of philosophers Peter Kreeft and Ronald Tacelli. This is an informative and valuable guidebook for anyone looking for answers to questions of faith and reason. Whether you are asking the questions yourself or want to respond to others who are, here is the resource you have been waiting for.

Authors

Peter Kreeft, Ph.D., is a professor of philosophy at Boston College. A practicing Roman Catholic, he has written 75 books including: Back to Virtue, Christianity for Modern Pagans, Fundamentals of the Faith, and 40 Reasons I am Catholic.

Fr. Ronald Tacelli S.J. is an associate professor of philosophy at Boston College. His academic interests include Kant, analytic philosophy, and the philosophy of religion.

Men of the St Mary TMIY Program,

Happy New Year! Our men's catechesis and fellowship program will restart on Friday January 5th with a new book for discussion and our First Friday breakfast.

The book chosen for the Winter and Spring months is "Behold the Man" by Deacon Harold Burke-Sivers. Please see a description of the book following this announcement. The format for this book discussion will entail outside reading of a selected chapter followed by discussion during the Friday morning meetings from 6:00 AM to 7:15 AM. The first book discussion meeting will occur on Friday January 12th when we will receive the books and watch an interview with Deacon Burke-Sivers about the intent of the book. The following weeks' meetings will entail our normal discussions. Please replay to this email if you would like a copy of the book. The estimated cost is $7.25 per book.

First Friday Breakfasts

Because we will not receive the books until after January 5th, we will have a First Friday breakfast at 6:00 AM on Friday January 5th at a new location, Louis' Diner on the corner of Windermere and Littleton Blvd. We look forward to seeing as many of you as possible.

Book Description
Lucid and inspiring, Behold the Man is a unique exploration of Catholic spirituality for men. Much of the literature written for Catholic men focuses on topical issues such as fatherhood and sexuality. While this book does not exclude these subjects, it is the first to present a comprehensive picture of Catholic male spirituality.

What is authentic male Catholic spirituality? What distinguishes it from Protestant male spirituality? How does masculine spirituality complement feminine spirituality? These questions and many more are answered in this book.

Drawing from Scripture and Church teaching, the author roots Catholic male spirituality in a covenant relationship with God and the cross of Jesus Christ. He demonstrates that when a man embraces the cross he is truly able to be himself—the man that God created and calls him to be. Behold the Man can deepen a man’s experience of Christ and help him to know the Lord more intimately.

Please join us in prayer for Carole Duncan, an original and dedicated 40 Days for Life prayer warrior. She fell and broke her hip and is painfully confined to home and in need of our prayers. She has been with us every campaign from the very first campaign 10 years ago but will probably not be able to pray on site with us this our 19th campaign. We will miss her powerful, prayerful witness sorely.

This lady has been a true friend to the Pro-Life causes...
Please pray for a young woman in the last days of her life who feels her gift from Lourdes will be that Our Blessed Mother comes to take her to Jesus. Pray that this hope is fulfilled and that Mary does indeed come for her and es**rt her to Our Lord.
