Saw this in a classroom at Maranatha Baptist University - appreciate the reminder of the responsibility to proclaim His glory everywhere in His power. We dropped our second daughter off at MBU today. She’s entering her freshman year. Our oldest is in her junior year at Bob Jones University now.

Last Sunday we were at Grace Baptist Church in Anderson, Ind., to tell of our ministry to the Deaf in the Midwest. It was great to reconnect with people from past ministry times and to see the church’s heart to reach their local community, including the Deaf, for Christ. We will miss having our oldest two daughters with us as they will be going to their colleges in next few weeks!

Pastor John Terpstra and Calvary Baptist Church, Barron, Wis., warmly welcomed our family last Sunday evening. We enjoyed the chance to interact with people before and after the service. Brian challenged the congregation about passing on their faith to faithful people (2 Timothy 2:1-2).

We drove through beautiful north-central Wisconsin to present at Northland Baptist Church in Hannibal last Sunday morning. The youth group leader asked us many good questions about our calling and walk with the Lord during the Sunday school hour. After the worship service and the Lord’s supper, the congregation had a potluck fellowship. Pastor Steve Newman told us that the church building was once a school built in 1930s.

At Camp Chetek we spoke with many campers who have taken some ASL classes in their schools, homeschools, or colleges. Many other campers asked great questions and showed interest in wanting to learn ASL. One young man even said he wants to see his home church begin a Deaf work. Imagine if God would use those young people to reach the Deaf globally for Christ?!? Let’s pray that our Lord would send those young people as laborers into His harvest. Pray that they are faithful to Him and are involved in serving in their local churches now.

Thrilled to see several young people learning American Sign Language through home school programs! The Lievens family had a great time sharing our calling at Lighthouse Baptist Church in Eau Claire, WI last Sunday. Pastor Butch Archambeau, his family, and the church were great blessings to us.

We had a great experience as camp missionaries at Camp Chetek’s Teen 3 week. It’s a joy to see the influence this camp has had on many young people. Souls were saved and lives surrendered to the Lord this week. Pastor Randy Tanis’ heart for young people and for the camp staff is evident. Evangelist Eric Goetsch preached powerful messages from God’s Word.

Great conversations often happen after the services at the display table. Several people of First Baptist Church of River Falls asked great questions about different aspects of reaching and equipping the Deaf for Christ last Sunday evening.

Pastor Chris Baker and First Baptist Church of Hillsdale warmly welcomed us to present our calling last Sunday. People asked good questions and were receptive about our calling to reach and equip the Deaf for Christ. We had the opportunity to interact with more people during the small group lunch fellowship after the morning service. We are excited to see the Lord’s work at this church!
