Story time….A Glimpse into Norah!

A beloved part of our church family is our fully acoustic grand piano lovingly named Norah. Norah means “honor”, and our worship team decided it was fitting since she’s played for the honor of Christ!

She was acquired a couple years ago, as our worship team desired a more authentic sound….warmer…more deliciously robust...less manufactured. Since grand pianos are pricy, we didn’t quite know how this would happen. Our congregation got wind of this desire and gathered enough funds among a collection of members to make her purchase possible! She was purchased with love, generosity and intent.

Here is a rare look inside the intricacies of Norah ahead of her monthly tuning yesterday. We meticulously care for her, as acoustic pianos require attention.

But we’d have it no other way and we are so grateful to have this work of art a part of our weekly worship! How completely special!

Have you noticed it’s increasingly difficult to decipher what is actually real here on the Internet?

We have.

As a response, we have been seeking the Lord about how to steward these social accounts of ours with more authenticity. You might notice some changes in the content we post, and that is because we have begun creating content from scratch…and we think this is exciting!

We realize content is scrolled past in a fraction of a second (and content creation on socials is like feeding a beast that’s never satisfied), but in those fractions you view from us, we want you to feel valued through the art we are taking time to create.

You know that feeling you get when you walk into a bookstore filled with actual words on pages? Or opening a handwritten note from a friend? Or passing encouraging notes back-and-forth? Or going to an art museum and looking at paintings created by somebody’s hand? Or receiving snail mail in your physical mailbox? …That’s what we long for our account to feel like, if even a little bit!

The photos and videos we post will all be taken by us. The sketches and art will be from our own congregation. The wording will never come from ChatGPT and may be written in our actual handwriting. It won’t be perfect, but that’s kinda the point…

So while the frequency of posting might decrease a little bit, we hope to make up for that in terms of loving authenticity! We pray you will feel loved and valued through the original art, encouragement and challenging thoughts we will share in the coming days!

14 trips this year, ranging from local to global….not so that we might feel good about ourselves, but so that Christ may be known, more people would discover his love and our IMPACT partners who live on the field every day would be better supported with encouragement and tangible resources required for effective ministry!

Our Croatia and Thailand trips head out very soon, but…..

Right now, we have two trips open for registration(!!!!):

1) Northern Eurasia (we cannot publicly post the location for security reasons) on October 21-31st.
We will be traveling to a place we’ve been before…where we have established relationships/partnership with the underground church. Join us as we continue to grow relationship with this hidden and deeply impactful ministry! **Contact us directly for more location specifics and we will be happy to share!**

2) Our Mystery Trip on November 13-23rd. This one will require both eagerness to say “yes!” to the Great Commission and a sense of adventure, as you won’t find out where you’re headed until we’re at the airport! You will need a passport, and you will receive a packing list, but the rest is a grand mystery waiting to unfold!
