I had a delightful spring because I had the honor of making a bunch of commissions. This one is particularly lovely— an engaged couple wanted a drawing of Mary and Joseph’s wedding to commemorate their own wedding. There are irises to represent the Seven Sorrows of Mary devotion, which the bride-to-be requested. I added roses for Mary and lilies for Joseph as well; you can’t go wrong with the classics!

✨You can purchase this print from my Etsy shop.✨

Another new print added to my shop. I did this sketch based on an old drawing of Jesus by a German artist— but I changed His gaze a bit for a more merciful and compassionate appearance.

I love it so much; I will be keeping the original! I can’t wait to get it framed for our home.

Now I feel like I need to do a similar drawing by but of Mary this time?

I’ll link to this print in stories.

✨New Art!✨ Well, okay, maybe not totally new. I finished this drawing in the winter but I waited until now to make it available as a print. I’ve switched print providers, so while my prints won’t be on linen paper anymore, they still be on high quality, matte paper with archival ink. And now I can offer larger sizes!

For this drawing, I was inspired by the idea of Jesus offering Himself as the Eucharist so I drew Him with his arms outstretched and a serene peaceful visage. Sometimes I just have an image in my mind to translate to the paper and this was one of them. It just kind of flowed out of me. I hope it honors Jesus well enough.

I’ll link to this print in my stories!

Here are the latter seven Stations of the Cross— the first seven are in my earlier post since I couldn’t fit all fourteen in one post!

In the background, the laurel branches represent Jesus’ triumph over death, the olive branches represent Jesus as the reconciliation between God and man, the anemones represent the crucifixion, and the poppies represent redemptive suffering.

I sent these originals off to their home yesterday and while I am of course DELIGHTED for their patron to see them in person, I am also so sad to see them go! I’ll miss the delicate warmth and meditative atmosphere they have.

All the drawings are 5x7” on Bristol board, in sepia ink with touches of watercolor.

Been working on these drawings of the Stations of the Cross for the past four months. Here are the first seven— I’ll post the other seven separately since apparently Instagram only allows ten photos per post.

It is with great joy that I share this news with you! Not one but TWO of my illustrations have been selected as finalists in the Sacred Art Prize 2023! My “Our Lady of the Rosary” and “Saint Hubert, Patron of Hunters” were both selected and can be seen in the online gallery, which I will link in my stories.

The Sacred Art Prize is an event run by the Catholic Art Institute, an arts organization working to restore truth, beauty, and goodness. For this year’s competition they received almost 400 entries from 19 countries.

I am beyond humbled. I have always been working towards being a fine artist, and recognition for my work in the international art community encourages me to continue in developing my skills. Thank you for following and supporting my work— Art patrons are intricately woven into the story of art! You are indispensable!

I literally fell to my knees and cried when I got the news. I don’t think I’ve ever done that before! I really mean it when I say I’m honored, haha. My 3 year old daughter thought I was nuts.

Happy Feast of Saint Nicholas! 🎅

I drew him in red pen for a monochromatic look and added a little green watercolor for the leaves.

And for the record, this was my second attempt— I did one drawing of Saint Nicholas last month but I felt very unsatisfied! This version is a lot more interesting and unique to me. Eventually I’ll make this into a Christmas card design, but clearly it wont be ready in time for this year!

Original is 5x7” on Bristol board, $175. Message me if you’d like to collect the original.

Mainly posting this because I had so much fun taking these photos. I feel like these photos are their own little works of art! And they deserve a moment in the spotlight 😊

‘Our Lady of Fatima’ is one of my favorite Marian feast days. Sometimes I think I feel that way because the word ‘Fatima’ is so beautiful sounding to me. Beauty always draws me in; it’s why I draw Mary more than any other subject matter. I just marvel at her grace and humility, and I never tire of trying to capture even a little bit of it on paper.

Our Lady of Fatima, pray for us!

This drawing was inspired by the Coronation of Mary when I was drawing a handful of mysteries of the rosary. This original is 11x14” and I always wonder if I should add color to the flowers for fun, since I still have it in my possession…

Saint Blaise, 5x7”, ink and watercolor on Bristol board: an overlooked illustration I finished last fall, in the drawing frenzy where I made something like 10-12 new originals in four months.

I love the blue toned stained glass. It reminds me of mountains, but I have no idea if there is any significance to mountains in regards to Saint Blaise. I just wanted a more… rugged? vibe with this drawing. When I think of the name ‘Blaise’ I think of an adventurous and energetic little boy so stained glass as mountains felt right. Maybe you know of such a cool little kid named Blaise who should have this drawing in his room to remind him of his namesake and patron.

And for the record, the statue I drew is an old one of Saint Blaise from Saint Lucia’s church exterior in Parma, Italy.

This original is available. Please message me if you’d like to collect it.

Well HI THERE! We did in fact successfully move across the country, and since we seem to be relatively settled in… it’s time to reopen the studio!! I even added a brand new product to the shop to celebrate— custom prayer cards! 🤩🙌🏼 (I will link them in my stories.)

I’m so lucky to have some commissions lined up for this fall and winter already, and I can’t wait to share some new work with you soon.
