As I share the Gospel, the response I receive most often concerning "How I Know I Am Going To Heaven" is "Because I Live Good Enough". Wait a minute.... we talk horribly about the "self-righteous Pharisee" but isn't that exactly what most are? They are trying their best to earn Heaven by living "good enough". They are declaring themselves righteous through their deeds. But God condemns such behavior. Matter of fact, God tells us through His Word that we are condemned through our sin. No matter how good you try to live, ALL HAVE SINNED, and therefore ALL ARE CONDEMNED. you cannot make yourself righteous through good deeds because the cost of one bad deed is Hell. But thanks be to God that He did not leave us in our condemned state. He took our place as the propitiation for our sins, humbled himself to the cross, and death, and then resurrected 3 days later to give us A GIFT. While we could not earn Heaven, Christ paid the ultimate price in order to grant us eternal life and gives to all who BELIEVE, and He does it FREELY! Trust Him today.
