s, we strive to find the face of God through following the Rule of St. Benedict. We grow as a Christian community through the monastic practices of obedience, stability, conversion, work and prayer. Our Catholic orientation places us within the One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church of God, whose Head, Chief Pastor and High Priest is Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We hold as sacred the Holy Scriptures, the ancient creeds of the Church, the seven sacraments and governance through valid Episcopal orders. While we revere the Pope of Rome in his historic role as the first among equals and as Patriarch of the West, we also revere the Ecumenical Patriarch. As a Religious within the One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church of Christ, we are self governing and have our own College of Abbots and Bishops. Following the example of both our progenitors and contemporaries we follow the commission of our Lord to "go forth and teach." It is our hope that by being independent we might better open our arms to all, who are part of the Church catholic of Christ. We welcome and embrace our brothers and sisters in Christ, especially those from other Catholic bodies, whether they are Roman, Anglican, Orthodox, Independent or Old Catholic.

June 16 — Rule of Saint Benedict
Chapter 12:1–4 — “The Solemnity of Sunday Praise”
Today Saint Benedict continues describing the Sunday Office and gives special attention to the Psalms that are sung in praise of God. The focus of this chapter is simple yet profound: the Christian life must be marked by praise.
Too often, our prayers become occupied only with requests, concerns, and needs. While God certainly invites us to bring these before Him, Saint Benedict reminds us that prayer also includes thanksgiving, adoration, and praise.
Praise changes the heart. When we praise God, we shift our attention from our problems to His goodness, from our limitations to His greatness, from our fears to His faithfulness. Praise teaches us to see life through the eyes of faith.
Even in difficult times, there is always something for which we can thank God. The monk learns to praise not only when life is easy but also when life is challenging.
Today, let us ask ourselves: Do I take time to praise God each day? Does gratitude shape my prayer?
For the heart that learns to praise discovers a joy that circumstances cannot destroy.

Chapitre 12:1–4 — « La solennité de la louange dominicale »
Aujourd'hui, saint Benoît poursuit sa description de l'Office du dimanche et accorde une attention particulière aux psaumes de louange. Le message est simple mais profond : la vie chrétienne doit être marquée par la louange.
Trop souvent, nos prières sont remplies uniquement de demandes et de préoccupations. Bien sûr, Dieu nous invite à lui présenter nos besoins, mais saint Benoît nous rappelle que la prière comprend aussi l'action de grâce, l'adoration et la louange.
La louange transforme le cœur. Elle nous aide à détourner notre regard de nos difficultés pour contempler la bonté de Dieu, sa grandeur et sa fidélité.
Même dans les moments difficiles, il existe toujours une raison de remercier Dieu. Le moine apprend à louer Dieu non seulement lorsque tout va bien, mais aussi au cœur des épreuves.
Aujourd'hui, demandons-nous : Est-ce que je prends le temps de louer Dieu chaque jour ? La gratitude habite-t-elle ma prière ?
Le cœur qui apprend à louer découvre une joie que les circonstances ne peuvent lui enlever.

Capítulo 12:1–4 — « La solemnidad de la alabanza dominical »
Hoy san Benito continúa describiendo el Oficio dominical y presta especial atención a los salmos de alabanza. El mensaje es sencillo pero profundo: la vida cristiana debe estar marcada por la alabanza.
Con frecuencia nuestras oraciones se llenan únicamente de peticiones y preocupaciones. Aunque Dios nos invita a presentarle nuestras necesidades, san Benito nos recuerda que la oración también incluye acción de gracias, adoración y alabanza.
La alabanza transforma el corazón. Nos ayuda a apartar la mirada de nuestros problemas para contemplar la bondad, la grandeza y la fidelidad de Dios.
Incluso en los momentos difíciles siempre hay algo por lo que dar gracias. El monje aprende a alabar a Dios no solo cuando todo va bien, sino también en medio de las pruebas.
Hoy preguntémonos: ¿Dedico tiempo cada día para alabar a Dios? ¿La gratitud forma parte de mi oración?
El corazón que aprende a alabar descubre una alegría que ninguna circunstancia puede destruir.

Capítulo 12:1–4 — « A solenidade do louvor dominical »
Hoje São Bento continua a descrever o Ofício de domingo e dá especial atenção aos salmos de louvor. A mensagem é simples, mas profunda: a vida cristã deve ser marcada pelo louvor.
Muitas vezes as nossas orações são compostas apenas por pedidos e preocupações. Embora Deus nos convide a apresentar-lhe as nossas necessidades, São Bento recorda-nos que a oração também inclui ação de graças, adoração e louvor.
O louvor transforma o coração. Ele ajuda-nos a desviar o olhar dos problemas para contemplar a bondade, a grandeza e a fidelidade de Deus.
Mesmo nos momentos difíceis, existe sempre algo pelo qual agradecer. O monge aprende a louvar Deus não apenas quando tudo corre bem, mas também no meio das provações.
Hoje, perguntemo-nos: Reservo tempo para louvar Deus todos os dias? A gratidão faz parte da minha oração?
O coração que aprende a louvar encontra uma alegria que nenhuma circunstância pode destruir.

අද ශාන්ත බෙනඩික්තු ඉරුදින කාර්යය පිළිබඳ විස්තරය තවදුරටත් ඉදිරියට ගෙන යමින් ප්‍රශංසාවේ ගීතාවලියට විශේෂ අවධානයක් යොමු කරයි. මෙම කොටසේ පණිවිඩය සරල නමුත් ගැඹුරුය: ක්‍රිස්තියානි ජීවිතය ප්‍රශංසාවෙන් සලකුණු විය යුතුය.

June 15 — Rule of Saint Benedict
Chapter 11:1–10 — “The Sunday Vigil”

Today Saint Benedict begins his instructions for the Sunday Night Office. Sunday, the Lord's Day, occupies a special place in the life of the monk because it celebrates the Resurrection of Christ. The greater solemnity given to the liturgy reminds us that our entire Christian life is rooted in the victory of Christ over sin and death.

Saint Benedict teaches that worship should never become routine. Sunday invites us to renew our gratitude, our joy, and our awareness of God's presence. It is an opportunity to pause, remember God's blessings, and recommit ourselves to following Christ.

In the midst of busy schedules and daily responsibilities, we can easily lose sight of the deeper purpose of our lives. The Lord's Day calls us back to the essentials: prayer, gratitude, community, and the hope of eternal life.

Today, let us ask ourselves:
Do I truly celebrate the gift of Christ's Resurrection?
Does my prayer reflect gratitude and joy?

For the soul that remembers the Risen Lord discovers renewed strength and hope for the journey ahead.
