CHURCH, LET US BE INFORMED, NOT DIVIDED!
There is far too much division today because of personal opinions and a lack of knowledge. As the body of Christ, especially during this election season, we must pursue truth, wisdom, discernment, and unity!
I want to encourage not only pastors and ministry leaders but every believer to do your due diligence! Research the candidates. Learn who they are, what they represent, their voting records, their public statements, and where they stand on issues that matter to you, including biblical values and principles.
We are not here to tell anyone who to vote for, nor should we impose our political preferences on others. Our responsibility is to present truthful information, encourage understanding, and allow each person to make an informed decision according to their conscience and discernment.
Some believe the church should stay completely away from political discussions. However, elected officials make laws, pass legislation, and influence decisions that affect our families, communities, and nation. Therefore, being informed is important!
Church, let us not be divided by opinions when we can be united in our pursuit of truth!
I encourage everyone to research candidates through resources such as:
* www.ballotpedia.org
* www.votesmart.org
Compare information, verify the facts, examine the candidates’ positions, and pray for wisdom.
My prayer is that we make conscious, informed decisions rather than decisions driven by emotions, assumptions, or political loyalty.
We are called to be the salt and light of this world! — Matthew 5:13–16
With love and conviction,
Pastor Axamarie
