Good Shepherd United Methodist Church We are a church for all God's children in Dale City, VA. We are a diverse and inclusive community of faith. (Romans 12:5, NRSV)

Planted in 1966 as an intentionally integrated church, we are blessed by the depth of our diversity as we seek to share the Good News in an increasingly diverse and divided world. Good Shepherd United Methodist Church welcomes persons of any ethnic or cultural group or situation of life, from anywhere in the world. We are proud of our diversity, which enriches our Christian fellowship and service

to the community and the world. "We, who are many, are one body in Christ, and individually we are members one of another."

Fun Friday Fact: Today is National Donut Day!

"In 1938, the first-ever National Donut Day was celebrated in Chicago, and the history of The Salvation Army’s Donut Lassies was officially immortalized. In 1917, these women were sent to France to establish field bases near the front lines. In makeshift huts, thousands of soldiers would come to stock up on essential goods and grab a sweet treat baked by the Lassies." This June, we celebrate PRIDE month with open hearts and open doors. ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜

At Good Shepherd UMC, we believe every person is a beloved child of God — full stop. "There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear." — 1 John 4:18

You are welcome here. You are loved here. You belong here.

This June, GBCS acknowledges the contributions and sacrifices of the LGBTQIA+ community in the pursuit of peace and justice nationally and globally. Pride Month was established in the United States to commemorate the 1969 Stonewall Uprising in New York City. The United Methodist Church’s Social Principles affirm that human sexuality is a gift grounded in love, care, and respect.

We encourage members and congregations of the church to take time to learn from and listen to members of the q***r community, to practice inclusivity, and to stand in solidarity against attacks on the LGBTQIA+ community—especially those targeting youth. We call for the protection of the rights and personhood of q***r and trans people within both the church and public policy.

Ways to engage: Join the LGBTQIA+ monthly working group (fourth Wednesday of every month at 5 p.m. ET), connect with your conference chapter of the Reconciling Ministries Network (RMN) for resources, and participate in advocacy efforts in your local community and state.

Contact [email protected] to join Church & Society's LGBTQIA+ monthly working group.

"Beloved, let us love one another, because love is from God; everyone who loves is born of God and knows God." — 1 John 4:7

This Sunday Pastor Lisa asks: Who is God? Each time we give, receive, or witness love — we move closer to the answer. We hope you'll join us for our new worship series as we explore questions to God together.

Fire, wind, and the Holy Spirit... our scripture this past Sunday reminded us of the power of the Holy Spirit moving among us. We are so blessed to be a church that is truly reflective of the whole family of Christ!
