๐Ÿ“– Strive to Be the Christian God Wants You to Be

Far too many Christians today are satisfied with just getting by spiritually. We attend church, carry a Bible, and claim the name of Christโ€”but are we truly growing in our walk with Him?

God did not save us to remain the same. He saved us to transform us.

๐Ÿ”น Are you closer to God today than you were a year ago?
๐Ÿ”น Is your prayer life stronger?
๐Ÿ”น Do you spend more time in His Word?
๐Ÿ”น Are you becoming more like Christ?

The Christian life is not about perfectionโ€”it is about progress. Every day we should be striving to know Him better, love Him more, and serve Him faithfully.

Philippians 3:14 (KJV)
"I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus."

Don't settle for spiritual mediocrity. Don't be content with a casual Christianity. Press on. Grow deeper. Walk closer. Serve harder.

God always rewards obedience.

๐Ÿบ ONE DRINK DOESN'T MAKE AN ALCOHOLIC... BUT EVERY ALCOHOLIC STARTED SOMEWHERE.

Nobody plans to become addicted.

Nobody says:
โŒ "I want to ruin my testimony."
โŒ "I want to hurt my family."
โŒ "I want alcohol to control my life."

It starts with a casual decision that seems harmless.

The devil rarely shows you the destinationโ€”he only shows you the first step.

๐Ÿ“– Proverbs 23:20
"Be not among winebibbers; among riotous eaters of flesh:"

God's warnings are not there to rob us of joyโ€”they are there to protect us from heartache.

As Christians, we should ask ourselves:

โ“ Does this bring me closer to Christ?
โ“ Does this strengthen my testimony?
โ“ Could this become a stumblingblock to someone else?

Watch the reel below and consider the direction of your life.

The choices we make today determine the person we become tomorrow.

โœ๏ธ Stay sober.
โœ๏ธ Stay vigilant.
โœ๏ธ Stay close to God.

๐Ÿบ "I NEVER PLANNED TO BECOME AN ALCOHOLIC." ๐Ÿบ

Nobody wakes up one morning and says:

โŒ "Today I'm going to ruin my marriage."
โŒ "Today I'm going to lose my testimony."
โŒ "Today I'm going to become addicted."
โŒ "Today I'm going to destroy my life."

It starts with:

๐Ÿ‘‰ "Just one drink."
๐Ÿ‘‰ "Just socially."
๐Ÿ‘‰ "Just at parties."
๐Ÿ‘‰ "Just with friends."

But sin rarely announces where it intends to take you.

The Bible repeatedly tells Christians to be sober, vigilant, and not brought under the power of anything.

๐Ÿ“– Proverbs 23:20
"Be not among winebibbers; among riotous eaters of flesh:"

Notice that God doesn't just warn against drunkenness.

He says, "Be not among winebibbers."

In other words, be careful who you run with.

The people you spend time with influence your thinking, your standards, your habits, and eventually your future.

Show me your friends...
and I'll show you your future.

โš ๏ธ What begins as social drinking can become habitual drinking.
โš ๏ธ What begins as a casual choice can become a controlling addiction.
โš ๏ธ What begins as fitting in can end with a shattered testimony.

As Christians, we ought to ask:

"Does this draw me closer to Christ or further away?"

Watch this reel and consider:

Are the people around you helping you walk with Godโ€”or pulling you away from Him?

โš ๏ธ THE DEVIL'S FIRST LIE WAS ABOUT SIN โš ๏ธ

In the Garden of Eden, Satan didn't convince Eve that God didn't exist.

He didn't convince her to worship another god.

He simply convinced her that sin wasn't that big of a deal.

๐Ÿ“– "Yea, hath God said...?"
๐Ÿ“– "Ye shall not surely die."

In other words:

๐Ÿ‘‰ "You'll be fine."
๐Ÿ‘‰ "It's not that serious."
๐Ÿ‘‰ "God is overreacting."
๐Ÿ‘‰ "Everybody does it."

And thousands of years later, he's still using the same lie.

We call it:
๐Ÿ”น Just a little compromise.
๐Ÿ”น Just a little lust.
๐Ÿ”น Just a little gossip.
๐Ÿ”น Just a little bitterness.
๐Ÿ”น Just a little drunkenness.
๐Ÿ”น Just a little rebellion.

But little sins never stay little.

A spark becomes a wildfire.
A crack becomes a collapse.
A habit becomes a stronghold.

What starts as a "small sin" eventually controls a person's life.

๐Ÿ“– Psalm 7:11
"God judgeth the righteous, and God is angry with the wicked every day."

The devil wants you to minimize your sin.

God wants you to confess it, forsake it, and walk in victory.

Don't believe the oldest lie in the Bible.

Sin always costs more than you think.
Sin always stays longer than you planned.
Sin always takes you further than you wanted to go.

Watch this reel and ask yourself:

โ“ What "little sin" have I been excusing that God has been trying to deal with?

THE BIGGEST PROBLEM IN AMERICA IS NOT POLITICAL โ€” IT'S SPIRITUAL ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ

Truthfully, we're fighting the wrong battle.

Every election cycle we're told that this politician, that political party, or this candidate is going to save America.

๐Ÿ“บ Fox News says one thing.
๐Ÿ“ป Talk radio says another.
๐Ÿ“ฑ Social media is filled with endless arguments.

And Christians are often right in the middle of it.

It amazes me how many people can spend hours debating politics, defending politicians, and arguing over elections...

Yet never once tell someone about Jesus Christ.

โš ๏ธ Donald Trump is not the Savior of America.
โš ๏ธ Politicians in Montgomery are not the Savior of Alabama.
โš ๏ธ Washington D.C. is not our hope.

โœ๏ธ Jesus Christ is the answer.

The real battle isn't Republican vs. Democrat.

The real battle is:
๐Ÿ‘‰ Heaven vs. Hell
๐Ÿ‘‰ Truth vs. Error
๐Ÿ‘‰ Light vs. Darkness
๐Ÿ‘‰ Souls saved vs. Souls lost

If Christians were half as passionate about sharing the Gospel as they are about sharing political opinions, we might see real revival.

America doesn't need another election to save her.

America needs Jesus.

๐Ÿ“– "For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world..." โ€” Ephesians 6:12

Watch this reel and ask yourself:

Am I spending more time talking about politics than I am talking about Christ?

Most people can tell you their parents' names. Many can even tell you about their grandparents.

But go back just three generations... and for most families, the memories begin to fade.

Names are forgotten.
Stories are lost.
Legacies disappear.

Now think about that spiritually.

If nothing changes, three generations from now your family may not know your name... but even more importantly, they may not know your God.

What are we passing down?

๐Ÿ  A house?
๐Ÿ’ฐ A bank account?
๐Ÿ“ธ A box of old photos?

Or are we passing down a faith that points future generations to Jesus Christ?

Psalm 78:4 says, "We will not hide them from their children, shewing to the generation to come the praises of the LORD..."

Your greatest legacy will never be what you leave TO your children.
Your greatest legacy will be what you leave IN your children.

Make sure your family knows your God.

โ“ How close can I get to the world?
โ“ How much compromise is acceptable?
โ“ Does it really matter how I live?

๐Ÿ”ฅ OUR GOD IS A CONSUMING FIRE ๐Ÿ”ฅ

Most people love to talk about God's love, grace, mercy, and forgivenessโ€”and praise God for those wonderful truths!

But have we forgotten that God is also holy, righteous, and just?

๐Ÿ“– Hebrews 12:29 โ€” *"For our God is a consuming fire."*

This Sunday at Trinity Baptist Church, we'll be looking at what it means that God is a consuming fire:

๐Ÿ”ฅ A fire that consumes sin
๐Ÿ”ฅ A fire that purifies His people
๐Ÿ”ฅ A fire that demands reverence
๐Ÿ”ฅ A fire that protects and brings victory

In a world that laughs at sin and compromises truth, God's Word reminds us that He has not changed.

โžก๏ธ Are you saved?
โžก๏ธ Is your walk with God where it should be?
โžก๏ธ Are you allowing God to refine you through life's trials?
โžก๏ธ Are you standing for truth in a culture that rejects it?

Come join us as we open the Word of God and discover how God's holy fire can transform our lives.
