St. Michael Church

St. Michael Church We are a parish family united in Jesus Christ pressing onward to the Kingdom under Saint Michael the Archangel’s patronage. Journey with us.

Saint Michael Church has a rich history dating back to 1872. Over the years it has been blessed with the service of numerous dedicated priests and parishioners who have provided a strong faith foundation and physical complex for us to engage ourselves in living and proclaiming our faith.

🇺🇸 As we look to Memorial Day this upcoming Monday, please be mindful that only one Daily Mass will be celebrated at 8AM on Monday morning. There will be no Noon Mass or Confessions.

🔔 Additionally, we’re pleased to share that the toll bell of our parish will ring at 3 PM in honor of the national observance for the fallen members of the armed forces.

🙏 “God of power and mercy, you destroy war and put down earthly pride. Banish violence from our midst and wipe away our tears, that we may all deserve to be called your sons and daughters. Keep in your mercy those men and women who have died in the cause of freedom and bring them safely into your kingdom of justice and peace. We ask this though Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.” -USCCB, Prayer for Memorial Day (Last Monday in May)

🗓️ This past Saturday and Sunday (May 16–17), we had the great joy of celebrating First Eucharist for so many of our young people as they received Jesus in Holy Communion for the very first time.

🎁 It was an absolute gift to gather as a parish and school family to witness our children receive Jesus’ Real Presence—His very Body and Blood given for us all.

🙏 Please continue to keep First Communicants in your prayers; that their love for Jesus in the Eucharist may continue to grow. Pray that they might always approach the altar of our God together with their families with reverence, joy, and love for Jesus and others.

❤️ May God bless their parents, grandparents, Godparents, families, catechists, teachers, and all who have walked with them in their journeys of faith thus far. Your witness, love, and commitment to being disciples and raising up disciples is a blessing. Thank you!

😇 This concludes the celebration of Easter Sacraments here at St. Michael’s. What a beautiful Easter Season we have celebrated together thus far, made especially joyous by the celebration of sacraments with our First Holy Communicants, Confirmandi, and OCIA Candidates! May the new life Jesus won for us all of us that is given in the sacraments always be our strength and source of hope!

📿 The Rosarians of our Rosary Society had a beautiful day of recollection and retreat together this past Monday, May 11, at the San Alphonso Retreat Center.

❤️ After a smooth bus ride down the parkway to Long Branch, the day included Holy Mass, a reflection talk, the recitation of the Rosary, faith sharing, and peaceful opportunities for prayer and conversation on the beautiful grounds of the retreat center.

🙏 Our parish family is so blessed in the prayers and witness of faith, hope, and love in our Rosary Society.

‼️ May we be bold, like them, in love for Our Lord and in devotion to Our Blessed Mother who always draws us to her Son.

🙏 We are so grateful to our Rosary Society for leading us in a beautiful evening honoring Our Lady during this month of May.

📿 After an opening song and praying the rosary together, the Magnificat, Mary’s song of praise was recited. Then, two statues of Our Mother were crowned following the May Crowing tradition. Another meditation song and closing song helped us reflect and enter deeply into this time when we honor Our Lady, the Queen of Heaven and Earth. Remarks and a final blessing were given to conclude the prayer service.

💐 Fellowship and refreshments followed in the Sarah Black Room that were graciously prepared by our Rosarians. What a beautiful evening was had by all!

❤️ May we be bold in approaching Our Lady, loving her, emulating her ways, and asking her powerful intercession. She always draws is closer to her son, Our Lord Jesus Christ.

🙌 What a BEAUTIFUL weekend of grace for our parish and school family here at St. Michael!

🙏 Over the course of several Masses this Saturday and Sunday (May 2–3), we had the great joy of celebrating First Eucharist for so many of our young people as they received Jesus in Holy Communion for the very first time.

❤️ What a sacred and unforgettable moment! Please keep our First Communicants in your prayers—that their love for the Eucharist may continue to grow, and that they may always hunger for Jesus, who gives Himself to us as the Bread of Life.

🕊️ We are especially grateful for their parents, families, and loved ones who have walked with them in faith and helped prepare their hearts for this day. Your witness, love, and commitment to the life of the Church make all the difference. God bless you!

🙏 A heartfelt thank you to our Religious Education team, catechists, and the teachers of St. Michael’s School for your dedication, care, and faithful teaching. Because of you, these children have come to know Jesus the Good Shepherd and His Real Presence among us. May He reward you for your labors of love!

✝️ The celebration of Easter Sacraments continues on! We look forward to welcoming more of our First Communicants and their families at our upcoming Masses on May 16–17 as we continue this joyful season at St. Mike’s. Please pray for them as they will soon approach the altar of our God for First Holy Communions as well.
