It’s been a crazy busy holiday season and end to 2025! But we are so thankful for all who partner with us. With John both healthy and pain free we’re ready for what God has for us in 2026! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Please take the time to vote for Brady Russell. Every year, the NFL presents the Salute to Service Award. This is the first year I know a nominee whose name is Brady Russell. He’s a fullback/tight end for the Seattle Seahawks. I had the privilege of playing with Brady’s father, Randy Russell, as a fellow linebacker at the University of Arkansas. Brady’s grandfather played a significant role in the rescue mission to liberate the Jewish people during World War II. His father Randy served in the Iraqi liberation effort, and his brother currently serves in the military as well.

As a former athlete who was conditioned to fight through pain I never considered the purpose.

The Healing paradox.

Today I had a revelation about pain.
What’s strange is that the pain I felt before surgery is completely gone. In its place is a new kind of pain — the pain of healing.

It’s a paradox.
Healing shouldn’t hurt, and yet it does.
But this pain feels different. It’s not the kind that signals damage or loss — it’s the kind that points to restoration.

I realized that healing carries its own kind of ache because growth always stretches us. The pain of healing is proof that something broken is being made whole again.

Maybe that’s how God works in us, too. He removes the pain of what was and replaces it with the pain of becoming — the holy ache of being restored.
