🌈 Happy Pride Month! 🌈

This June, we joyfully celebrate the beautiful diversity of God’s creation and honor the LGBTQ+ community—beloved, affirmed, and made in God’s image.

For decades, LGBTQ+ Episcopalians and allies have worked to make The Episcopal Church a place of belonging and inclusion. We have prayed, studied, and discerned, and in doing so, we have seen the evidence of God’s blessing in the lives and love of our LGBTQ+ siblings in Christ.

We celebrate and give thanks for the beauty, strength, and sacred worth of LGBTQ+ leaders across all contexts and callings.

We invite you to join us on the journey. You belong.

🏳️‍🌈 You are beloved.
🏳️‍⚧️ You belong.
✝️ No exceptions.

LENT--A HOLY SEASON
The prelude to Lent is usually observed by a Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper or some sort of Mardi Gras celebration, and followed the next day with an Ash Wednesday service with the imposition of ashes and eucharist (communion). Lent is our solemn call to repentance and the preparation for baptism for those wishing to be baptized on Easter.

We begin this Lent with our new Interim Vicar, Rev. Patrick Gahan. Our Ash Wednesday service begins at 5:30pm with Holy Communion. We will have a light meal after the service offering everyone an opportunity to meet Patrick and his lovely wife, Kay.

A little Election Day diversion:

In our increasingly outraged America, even the lowly leaf is subject to controversy, with folks upset about the raking and the bagging and mad about the blow...

What is a "Collect"? A collect prayer (one that 'collects' the thoughts of the people of God as they are gathered to pray) has five parts:

1. We call on God

(Almighty and everloving God,)

2. We acknowledge God's action in the world

(your son Jesus Christ shared his love in the life of an earthly home;)

3. We make a specific request (petition) to God

(help us to live with one another in compassion and peace,)

4. We express the hoped-for result of our request

(that we might grow in readiness for that eternal home for which you have prepared us.)

5. We address the prayer to God, through Christ in the Holy Spirit

(This we pray through Jesus Christ our Lord, in the power of the Holy Spirit. Amen)

Now you know.
