Corpus Christi - The Solemnity of the Holy Body and Blood of Christ was celebrated on Sunday, June 7th. A traditional processional of the Holy Eucharist following Mass was led by Father John Paul.

Congratulations Gail Buffong - Gail Buffong made her Final Promises at the Monastery of the Holy Spirit in Conyers, GA as a Professional Lay Cistercian last Sunday, June 7th. Several parishioners of St. Benedict the Moor were in attendance to witness this most spiritual feat. A Lay Cistercian's final promise is a lifelong commitment to seek God in everyday life. Lay Cistercians make a formalized promise to live out the Rule of St. Benedict and the Cistercian charisms (silence, humility, and hospitality) while remaining in the secular world.

The annual CCW Convention was held April 25-27th here in Columbus at The Church of the Holy Family. The ladies of St. Benedict the Moor were well represented at the banquet. One of our own parishioners won our gift basket!

Jesus washing the disciples' feet during the Last Supper is a powerful symbol of humility, service, and the ultimate act of love and sacrifice. It demonstrates Jesus' willingness to serve others, even in the most menial ways, and serves as an example for his followers to emulate. The act also symbolizes the spiritual cleansing and forgiveness offered through Jesus' death and sacrifice. On Holy Thursday, Father Patrick washed the feet of St. Benedict the Moor parishioners in preparation for Easter.
