Dear people of God in The Episcopal Church: Like Jesus, we live in frightening times. His earthly ministry began, as we heard in today’s Gospel reading, when John the Baptist was imprisoned by authorities who wanted to silence his preaching and prophesying.

**********SNOW CANCELLATION UPDATE************

Dear Friends:

This Saturday afternoon, Governor Mike DeWine declared a state of emergency in Ohio due to the approaching winter storm. The proclamation urges people to stay home unless it’s “absolutely necessary" to be out.

Considering this and the severe winter weather expected overnight and throughout the day tomorrow, out of concern for everyone’s safety, the 9:00 a.m. adult formation and the 10:00 a.m. service at St. Albans are CANCELLED for Sunday, January 25, 2026.

This is not a decision made lightly. Gathering for worship matters deeply to us—but so does the care of one another. Asking people to travel in dangerous conditions would not reflect the love and prudence at the heart of our life together.

I invite you to keep the day holy at home:

Pray Morning Prayer, read the appointed scriptures (attached), light a candle, and hold one another in prayer. God meets us wherever we are.

Please stay safe and watch for updates as the weather unfolds. I look forward to worshiping together again soon.

Please arrive early to make sure to get a seat - this will be a very special evening for all in attendance. Now more than ever, we need to remember the true meaning of Christ's birth and all the reasons we have to be people of courage and hope.

Last evening, the Christmas story was told through a service from our Godly Play Montessori-based program. Learn more at www.stalbans-bexley.org.

Thank you to everyone who came out for this special occasion!

Led by our Youth and Family Formation Minister, Christine Overway, those present brought forward the characters and creatures for the creche.

We sang carols and enjoyed a lovely reception with beautifully decorated seasonal cupcakes and hot chocolate.
