Allegheny West Conference Youth & Young Adult Ministries mourns with hope the passing of former Youth Director from 1979 to 1998, Pr. Carl Rogers. We extend our sympathies to his wife Dr. Tecora Rogers and family during this difficult time.
Director Carl Rogers was an illustrious mentor and servant leader. His legacy is seen and felt in the club directors and youth leaders who continue to serve our youth.
During Pastor Rogers’ 19 years of service, the following programs were initiated and implemented or provided to benefit the youth:
• Regular youth federations - at least 2 per year for each district of the conference
• Pathfinder camporees every year for each district
• The Allegheny West Adventurer Program for children ages 6-11
• Cotillion/Beautillion for junior and senior high school students
• Summer Camp for juniors and teens
• Biblespell and Bible Bowl
• Year Round Athletics for youth and young adults: Basketball - Volleyball - Softball and Olympics
• Summer Ministries Scholarships totaling over $201,000
• The Pathfinder Drum Corps Ministry
• Annual Pathfinder/Adventurers participation in The Independence Day Parade
• ADHD Support Group (jointly with Tecora)
• R.E.S.P.C.T. (Program for singles)
We pray for comfort during this time of grief in Jesus’ promise,
“Look, I am coming soon! My reward is with me, and I will give to each person according to what they have done." Revelation 22:12.
