Bodhi Buddhist Association of Columbus The Buddhist Bodhi Association of Columbus (BBAC) was established in 1991 to serve as a spiritual center for those who love to discuss and practice Buddhism.

It closed in 2020, when the building was sold. The community lives on. The Bodhi Buddhist Association of Columbus (BBAC) was established in 1991 to serve as a spiritual center for all those who want practice and study Buddhism. At our meetings we meditate and study suttas from both, Theravada and Mahayana traditions.

Update on the studies: we just finished the second chapter chapter - Associated Mental Factors - of Abhidhamma Compendium. Proceeding to the chapter three, "Miscellaneous".
We are finishing one of the basic test of the Yogacara school "Dharmadharmata".

While studying Dependent Origination, we realized that its fuller comprehension requires some basic knowledge of cognitive process and momentary consciousness. This prompted us to look into Abhidhamma, the Buddha's quintessential teaching on ultimate reality (paramattha) where phenomena are broken down into their ultimate constituents.

Update on the study sessions. We just started two new texts - Bhikkhu Bodhi's book on Dependent Origination (Theravada) and Asanga's "Distinguishing Phenomena from Their Intrinsic Nature", Sanskrit title, Dharmadharmatāvibhaṅga, one of the Five Maitreya Teachings, (Yogacara/Madyamaka).
