I want to tell you about a book.
I don’t say that casually. I’ve been in ministry a long time, and I’ve read a lot of books. Most of them are good. Some of them are helpful. Every once in a while, you come across one that does something different… it gets inside you and won’t let go.
Overcomer: God’s Love Through the Eyes of a Rebel by Michael Amstutz-Washburn is that kind of book.
I had the honor of writing the foreword for this one, and I want to tell you why I said yes without hesitation.
Michael is my son. Some would say son-in-law. I just say son, and that’s enough. I’ve watched this man up close. I know where he’s been. I know what it cost him to write these pages honestly… and he did write them honestly. That’s what makes this different.
This is not a polished-up success story. This is a man who spent forty years looking for a father, making wrong turns, losing things, and somehow (only because of the grace of God) finding his way home. And he tells it straight. Without performance or pretending. This is the truth of what God can do with a life that’s been through the fire.
I believe one man’s story, offered honestly, can transform a life, a family, a generation.
This one will.
If you’re looking for a book to give someone who’s been through hard things and needs to know God hasn’t forgotten them — this is it. If you’re that person yourself… well, this is for you.
Hallelujah. The best really is yet to come!
Overcomer is available now. Get your copy. You’ll be glad you did.
