The St Fidelis Street Outreach Ministry Serves on September 5, 2026
Whoever does not love does not know God, for God is love (1 John 4:8)
This month we would like to thank Teresa DeCaro and her daughters Sophia and Isabella and the
Girl Scouts of the Parish of St. Mel in Flushing for their extraordinary years long partnership and
exceptional contributions to this Ministry.
Many thanks also once again to Trader Joes in Rego Park for providing us with beautiful and
nourishing fresh food for our Outreach.
And welcome to new volunteers Matthew Albanese and Carlos Avelar -- both Altar Servers from
St Andrew Avellino RC Church in Flushing, -- and their fathers Joe Albanese and Eduardo Avelar. Welcome also to Midshipman Robert Owens from the Merchant Marine Academy.
Our Outreach takes place the first Saturday of each month (rain or shine) from 8:30 a.m. to as
long as supplies last, on the corner of 14th
Avenue and College Point Boulevard, across from the Poppenhusen Library. We offer free food, clothing, hygienic supplies and other items to all in
need. In between First Saturdays we regularly visit with the street homeless and housing insecure in College Point and beyond and assist them with their need for housing. We have helped many people make the transition from homeless or housing insecure to long term stable housing.

Este mes nos gustaría agradecer a Teresa DeCaro y a sus hijas Sophia e Isabella y a “Girl Scouts de la Parroquia de St. Mel” en Flushing por su extraordinaria asociación de años y contribuciones excepcionales a este Ministerio.
Muchas gracias también una vez más a Trader Joes en Rego Park por proporcionarnos hermosos y frescos alimentos nutritivos para nuestro ministerio.
Le danos la bienvenida a los nuevos voluntarios Matthew Albanese y Carlos Avelar, ambos Servidores de Altar de Iglesia St Andrew Avellino RC en Flushing, - y sus padres Joe Albanese y Eduardo Avelar. Bienvenido también al Midshipman Robert Owens de la Academia de la Marina Mercante.
Nuestro Outreach tiene lugar el primer Sábado de cada mes (llueva o truene) desde las 8:30 a.m. hasta mientras duren los suministros, en la esquina de la calle 14 avenida y College Point Boulevard, frente al Biblioteca Poppenhusen.
Ofrecemos comida, ropa, suministros higiénicos y otros artículos gratis a todos las personas que necesiten. Entre los primeros sábados visitamos regularmente a las personas sin hogar de la calle y vivienda insegura en College Point y también ayudamos con su necesidad de vivienda.
Hemos ayudado a muchas personas a hacer la transición de personas sin hogar o vivienda insegura a largo plazo para que tenga una vivienda estable.
