The St Fidelis Street Outreach Ministry Serves on October 3, 2026.
(“Find your delight in the Lord who will give you your heart’s desire”(Psalm 37:4))
This month we welcomed four new volunteer Midshipmen from the Merchant Marine Academy.
We continue to offer our thanks and gratitude to our partner parishes, whose faithful commitment
to this Ministry has made the work of the St Fidelis Street Outreach such a success; Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal RC Church in Ridgewood, Holy Trinity RC Church in Whitestone, St. Mel’s RC Church in Flushing, NY, St Luke’s RC Church in Whitestone, Saint Andrew Avellino Roman Catholic Church, and St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Shrine Church in Flushing .
And very special thanks to Teresa DeCaro and her daughter Sophia and son Antonio from St. Mel’s RC Church in Flushing for bringing and distributing baby seats and many wonderful toys for the children who come to our Outreach.
Our Outreach takes place the first Saturday of each month (rain or shine) from 8:30 a.m. to as long as supplies last, on the corner of 14th Avenue and College Point Boulevard, across from the Poppenhusen Library. We offer free food, clothing, hygienic supplies and other items to all in need. In between First Saturdays we regularly visit with the street homeless and housing insecure in College Point and beyond and assist them with their need for housing. We have helped many people make the transition from homeless or housing insecure to long term stable housing.

Este mes recibimos a cuatro nuevos cadetes de la Academia de la Marina Mercante como voluntarios.
Continuamos ofreciendo nuestro agradecimiento y gratitud a nuestras parroquias asociadas, cuyo fiel compromiso a este Ministerio le ha dado tanto éxito al trabajo de la Extensión de la Calle San Fidelis; Nuestra Señora de la Medalla Milagrosa RC Church en Ridgewood, Iglesia RC de la Santísima Trinidad en Whitestone, Iglesia RC de San Mel en Flushing, NY, Iglesia RC de San Lucas en Whitestone, Iglesia Católica Romana de San Andrés Avellino y Iglesia Ortodoxa Griega de San Nicolás en Flushing.
Y muchas gracias especiales a Teresa DeCaro y a su hija Sophia y a su hijo Antonio de la Iglesia RC de St. Mel en Flushing por traer y distribuir asientos para bebés y muchos juguetes maravillosos para los niños que vienen a nuestra Outreach.
Nuestra actividad se lleva a cabo el primer sábado de cada mes (lluvia o sol) de 8:30 a. m. hasta que se agoten los suministros, en la esquina de la Avenida 14 y el Boulevard College Point, frente a la Biblioteca Poppenhusen. Ofrecemos comida, ropa, suministros higiénicos y otros artículos gratuitos a todos los que lo necesiten. Entre los primeros sábados, visitamos regularmente a las personas sin hogar y con inseguridad en la vivienda en College Point y alrededores y les ayudamos con su necesidad de vivienda. Hemos ayudado a muchas personas a hacer la transición de estar sin hogar o con inseguridad en la vivienda a una vivienda estable a largo plazo.
