The Archdiocese of Cincinnati's Office of African American Catholic Ministries has created a Lenten Daily Prayer Reflection Series entitled. "Scripture and African American Sacred Song."

Participants are invited to enter into the holy Season of Lent using the daily scripture readings and selected sacred songs.

Beginning on Ash Wednesday, the daily reflection will be posted on this page. The reflection series is designed to provide another pathway for repentance, discernment, and self-examination in preparation for celebrating the Easter Mysteries.

A PDF of the entire Reflection Series can be viewed at the following link: https://tinyurl.com/LentenSeries2026

Bishop Ed Malesic has issued a statement regarding the expected winter storm this weekend:

In view of the snow storm forecast for this weekend various areas in our diocese will be affected differently depending on the timing of this event. Let me remind you that no one is obligated to attend Mass when it is too dangerous to do so. In such cases the Sunday Mass obligation is lifted automatically. Those who are unable to attend Mass safely should find another way to honor the sabbath, perhaps praying a Rosary, meditating on the Sunday readings, or praying the Liturgy of the Hours. Also, be mindful that some of our priests who live at a distance from a Church, may not be able to safely travel there for the celebration of Holy Mass. If possible, please consult any posted changes to the Mass schedule for this Sunday.
