Random thought while listening…

It’s been a while since we have released music commercially. It can be an intimidating thing because the world and the industry move so swiftly. However, it’s something different when you tap into assignment…

I was assigned to release this song. I know it for a fact. I had been recording songs for almost two years, but whenever my team wanted to release one, I never felt peace about it and I would ask them to refrain. It’s not that the other songs aren’t good songs. I just didn’t feel like it was what I was supposed to be saying at THIS moment for THIS season. They were patient with me. My labels and my music team. They were patient as I waited to hear from God exactly what he wanted me to say. In February of this year, I lost a very dear friend. It devastated me and in truth, I’m still wrestling with it…but one morning, while I was sitting at my piano having devotion time with God, HE gave me this. As tears streamed down my face as I surrendered my hurt and pain to Jesus. I accepted the sovereignty of God and that it is at His name that every knee bows. I sung it to myself. Then I sung it to group therAPy. Then I sing it to my choir at church. Then I sing it at . Wherever I sing it, the atmosphere would shift and we would put Jesus back where He belonged. 🙏🏽

Today, I have no fear of what others may or may not think. Today, I am confident that I have said and done what God called me to do…and the peace of His approval let’s me know that this song is going to reach who it’s meant to reach…to do what it is meant to do. Amen. 🙏🏽
