Our regional gathering ended on a high note with wonderful and full workshops on missional communities, finances, leading liturgy, the sacrament of confirmation and more! Our closing Eucharist was joyful and we confirmed over 30 people who are thrilled to be a part of the Episcopal Church and the Episcopal Diocese of Ohio.
Thanks to the always beautifully hospitable saints of Christ Church Episcopal, Hudson, Ohio for hosting us.
And a HUGE thanks to the staff and the liturgy planners for the countless hours and details you put into making this happen.
The Holy Spirit is moving in DOhio, beloveds!! 🕊️🔥

Day TWO of our Akron/Canton regional gathering was awesome! Worship! Wardens lunch! Staff office hours! Talking about how worship and Beloved Community work together!
Huge thanks to the seemingly tireless volunteers from St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Canton, OH for their generous hospitality.
Y’all - DOhio is full of energy and hope - and I LOVE it!
See you tomorrow for our final day of workshops and our concluding worship with regional confirmations.

Yesterday was Day ONE of our Regional Gathering in the Akron/Canton region! Noonday Prayer and Compline anchored our day, there was a CPG lunch, clergy spouses gathered, office hours with my staff, and a lovely and deeply thoughtful workshop on how DOhio can live into our vision. I came away inspired by the conversations and worship, the dedicated leaders in this diocese, and the creativity and passion we have for living into God’s call on our lives.
Thank you to St. Paul's Episcopal Akron, OH for hosting us.
See you today for Day Two!!

Pentecost Sunday at Saint Paul's Episcopal Church, Mt Vernon! They care deeply for their community: they host a winter warming shelter, offer fix-it clinics, open their church to people attending rallies on the square, and more!
We also blessed the rector’s new house with a joyous reception.

Part of our ordination vows as bishops is to take part in the ordination of other bishops. It was a JOY to do so for a friend and colleague, Bishop Sarah Fisher - ninth bishop of The Episcopal Diocese of East Carolina!! They are ready to work together to share the transformative love of Jesus with their communities.

Wonderful Sunday at St. Paul's Episcopal Akron, OH - confirming youth and adults, JOYFUL asperging with a gaggle of young people, lively coffee hour discussion about congregational development, vestry committed to engaging the community around them - AND because it was Mother's Day, David joined me in worship and we went for a hike in the Cuyahoga Valley National Park!

This past Wednesday, David and I attended the The Choir of Westminster Abbey concert at St. Paul's Episcopal Church. It was extraordinary to hear the voices of the children and adults harmonizing and bringing the compositions of musicians from generations past to life. Their director, Andrew Nethsingha, is humble, gracious, and extraordinarily gifted.
We are weren’t able to get in to hear them sing when we were in London in January, so it was a special treat to meet them (SO delightful!!!) and have our souls lifted by their gifts.

Episcopal Diocese of Ohio - thank you for calling me to be your bishop. I can't believe it has been three years since the day we gathered together with people from around the church to pray and worship together for the first time - and to ordain me as your bishop. I want to post EVERY picture from that day. I want to write every one of you to thank you for being there. I want to thank everyone all over again who helped search for a bishop, plan ALL the things, and bring it all together. I want to have us all together again today!

Beloved community - when we honor everyone as a beloved child of God and treat them as holy, sacred, and beloved - that is what we pray for and work towards. It's a gift beyond measure to be in this ministry with all of you - beloveds in DOhio, beloved colleagues and friends in the House of Bishops, beloved colleagues and friends from so many parts of my life, and my amazing, beloved family.

I say all the time, "we are in this together whether we want to be or not" - and dear ones, I DO want to be in this with you, and I give thanks every day that we are in this together through the joys and sorrows.

I love being the Bishop of Ohio.

I spent much of last week and this weekend at Kenyon College - several days of board meetings with a creative, passionate board - celebrating donors for an initiative to build the endowment - celebrating the life of Graham Gund with Bishop Mark giving a tribute- then a WONDERFUL visit at Harcourt Parish Episcopal Church! Sadly, Bishop Kristin White and I failed - again - to take a picture together, but it is a joy to be together representing the Episcopal Church in Ohio.

It was an honor to baptize one student and confirm many other students and adults. The energy these students have for growing their faith and sharing it with others is contagious, and I love how Harcourt is continually working to reach people in their community.
