💥New Video on YouTube💥

A nugget of wisdom from God today. What we can learn from Gideon is that it's not just how you start, but also how you finish. And more importantly, remember who made you. God bless.

It's not just how you start, it's how you finish.

Matthew 6:13 NASB2020
[13] ‘And do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

This is a prayer we should take serious every day. Paul writes to the Corinthians about not being ignorant of the enemy's schemes. And his schemes have not changed since the first deceitful lie he told in the garden. We often think he entices us with temptation to outright sin; but yet he takes it one step further. The serpent will try to convince us of the innocence of our Sin.

During his discourse with Eve he told her "you surely shall not die." It was a bold face lie in the face of the truth that was told to her. But the Scripture states that Eve was convinced. Satan convinced her that God was withholding something from her and that sinning would actually bring her life, not kill her. This is the abuse of grace in the church today. Many are lead to believe that Grace covers us to continue to sin, telling us it really isn't that serious. We are deceived making excuses such as I'm not perfect, I'm saved by grace not works, Jesus Paid for my past, present, and future sins etc. We may even be deceived into believing its okay to sin knowing we are willingly, making the statement "the Lord will have to forgive me."

But remember that sin separates us from communion with the Father just as Adam and Eve were forced out of the garden. We must know the truth of the Bible now more than ever if we are to discern when we are being lied to or tempted. Never forget that Satan comes as an angel of light. My prayer is for the saints of God to seek the Lord like never before and get to know Him and His truth intimately. And know that even in times of broken fellowship, there is mercy because of the Blood of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of sins. But since we love the Father beyond words, let us not abuse that Grace. Shalom

This morning, I was reading my devotional and wanted to share what I had read:

Seek God Passionately
Pastor Mitch Varlow - INChurch Sydney

As Christians, I believe we each have the desire to live a victorious life in God. We understand we are called to be more than overcomers, to live in the victory Christ has for us, and to walk in God’s plan and purpose.

We cannot, however, be unaware that we are opposed in that pursuit. Paul speaks in Ephesians 6 about how we fight not against flesh and blood but rather against the principalities of this evil world. In many places across the world, there is overt spiritual oppression and opposition. In the Western world, though, we face a more subtle opposition, the spirit of apathy. We can grow so comfortable in our faith, so casual, guided more by our feelings than our desire. This is something we must actively push against. We can’t afford to be Christians who are simply “lukewarm” in our faith… Jesus said in Revelation 3:16 that if we are lukewarm, He would spit us out!

John Piper said, “If you don’t feel strong desires for the manifestation of the glory of God, it is not because you have drunk deeply and are satisfied. It is because you have nibbled so long at the table of the world. Your soul is stuffed with small things, and there is no room for the great.”

We need to stir up within us a deep desire to pursue God, to seek Him passionately. It is so easy for us to fill ourselves with the “junk” of the world instead of pursuing that which truly satisfies. This isn’t about being caught up in sinful things… Maybe it’s small distractions, which in and of themselves may be harmless, but added up, they divert us from our main pursuit, Jesus! Paul encourages us, “Think about the things of heaven, not the things of earth…” (Colossians 3:2)

Psalm 107:9 says “He satisfies the longing soul…”

Seeking God passionately is a choice… not simply a one-off choice but a daily pursuit. Is your soul longing for Him? Or are you stuffed full of the emptiness of the world?

Reflect;

So, how do we put this into practice?

Jesus makes it plain for us in Luke 9:23 if we are to follow Him: “You must give up your own way, take up your cross daily, and follow me.”

So, what can you give up? What can you lay aside? Instead of pursuing the things of this world, determine to pursue the things of God. And, as Jesus encourages us, do this daily… follow Him. Pursue Him with all you are.

Prayer:

Lord, help me to recognize when I’ve been distracted from pursuing You with all I am. Help me to identify the things that I have allowed to fill me up rather than being filled with You. I choose to pursue You with ALL that I am. Lord, You are all I need.

Reconciled Ministries was founded by Evangelist Brad Riga and is a ministry under the covering of The Congregation of the Lord in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Reconciled Ministries exists to carry out the ministry of reconciliation given to us by God through Jesus Christ. Rooted in the truth of 2 Corinthians 5:18, we believe that restoration begins with relationship---first with God, then with others. As recipients of grace, we are called to help close the divide between brokenness and healing, offering hope, discipleship, and the message of reconciliation to all. Every outreach, prayer, and act of service is a response to the gift we have received: being brought back to the Father through Jesus Christ.

"And all of this is a gift from God, who brought us back to himself through Christ. And God has given us this task of reconciling people to Him."
2 Corinthians 5:18
