One Year of God’s Grace.

On Sunday we celebrated one Year of Worship in Oakley. It was awesome to look back on the last year and thank God for - new faces & familiar ones… worship together & through our lives… opportunities to grow in faith and love.

No matter how many years pass, let’s keep the cross at the center. God’s grace is why we gather.

The life of a Christian is often referred to as a race.
This is a race unlike any other.
Instead of starting out, straining and hoping we are victorious... Thanks to Jesus, we know we've won before we even begin.

This past Sunday, we looked at the end of Jonah's story.
We meet an angry prophet, furious that God would show grace to an evil city. "Unfair," he says.
And you know what? He's right. God's grace IS unfair.
If God gave us what we truly deserved, there would be no mercy — only judgment.
But because of Jesus' sacrifice on the cross, we receive the grace his Son earned in our place.

When we remember that forgiving our neighbor is not about us, or how we've been wronged, we remember how great our Father's love is for us.
Because we have been forgiven by our Creator, we can strive to forgive others.
Looking for more? We'd love for you to join us for worship on Sunday 🤍

This past Sunday we talked about how forgiveness is for YOU.
Forgiveness if for you - to live a guilt-free life, because of what Jesus did for the sins of the world.
Forgiviness is for you - to show this same forgiveness to those around you.
Scripture: Matthew 18: 21-35

This last Sunday was an awesome moment to see everyone’s gifts working together. It was our first go-round setting up on a Sunday morning. We installed Mike as our Oakley Elder. We met and talked about our first year and our prayers for next year.

There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit distributes them. There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord. There are different kinds of working, but in all of them and in everyone it is the same God at work.

Spent the morning slingin’ caffeine, encouraging college kids to get in the Bible with OPEN BOOK, and planning a study on campus at UC. We even got a performance from the band to pump us up.
Huge shout out to Vicar Cook for the help!
Unfortunately, the Bearcat got scared off by Vicar, and we couldn’t get a picture.
