Opportunity to put our faith into action - Aug. 2 and 9. On a day set apart for worship, we can bear faithful witness by accompanying those who are vulnerable, offering our presence, our prayers, and our solidarity. Standing with our immigrant neighbors is a powerful expression of God's love and justiceโ€”and one of the clearest ways we can embody worship beyond the walls of our sanctuaries.

Many Haitians from Springfield received letters to appear at the ICE office in Blue Ash, Ohio at 8AM on a Sunday. This administration is trying to deport people en masse through quiet administrative procedures instead of neighborhood raids because they know how unpopular ICE is. We need to show up on Sunday, stand with our Haitian neighbors, and tell ICE: WE SEE YOU.

Ignite Peace and the Miami Valley Immigration Coalition ask you to join us Sunday, August 2nd and Sunday, August 9th at 7:00 AM for vigils outside the Immigration and Customs Enforcement field office in Blue Ash where concerned community members will peacefully dissent, express support for the Haitian and Syrian communities impacted by the termination of Temporary Protected Status (TPS), and advocate for just and humane immigration policy.

We will meet at the corner of Kenwood & Malsbary Road in Blue Ash and then walk to the ICE field office in a single-file line in the grass along Malsbary Road until we are out front of the office on Redhill Drive. Please note there are no sidewalks or street parking on Malsbary. Safety marshals will be available in yellow vests to keep us safe and respond to any law enforcement presence. There will be additional opportunities to sign up and be a witness through 2pm.

Do NOT park in the ICE lot. Possible parking: side streets and businesses.

Wear religious garments, pro-immigration t-shirts, and bring signs/banners to alert the general public of whatโ€™s going on in their backyard. Bring water and rain gear. ICE out of Cincinnati!

Actions Steps for Springfield Ohio Neighbors! ๐Ÿซถ

+ Advocate for Senate Bill 4814 by calling 202-224-3121 and ask your senators to say yes to extending TPS for another 3 years.
+ With many losing TPS status, those affected have also suddenly lost their jobs and income and will soon lose their driver's licenses as well (on July 6th). Volunteers and donations will be greatly needed to help with providing food and transportation for those in need. Any support in these areas will make a huge difference. If you are local enough to volunteer with food deliveries or transportation help, please email [email protected].
+ If you are not local, please consider donating to any of these organizations:
