Press Release

From: Scioto Valley Habitat for Humanity – Ross and Pickaway
Eric Dieterich – Board Member
Event: Groundbreaking for Home #37
Where: 1237 Norfolk Avenue, Circleville, Ohio
When: November 15, 2025, at 2:00 pm

Scioto Valley Habitat for Humanity (Ross-Pickaway) will have a groundbreaking for its 37th home on November 15, 2025, at 2:00pm at 1237 Norfolk Avenue in Circleville, Ohio. The ceremony will be attended by the homeowner, Danyelle Lynn, mother of three, and one grandchild, Mayor Michelle Blanton as well as representatives of the Scioto Valley HFH. Southeast Ohio HFH representatives will also be present as they have been instrumental in assisting Scioto Valley HFH with this build.

This is the 37th home to be built by Scioto Valley HFH and the latest to be placed in Pickaway County since 2007. The organization is hopeful that it can continue to do this every other year in Pickaway County with continued support from the community. Although Habitat for Humanity is known for constructing β€œstick-built” homes, this one is a manufactured home and is scheduled to be placed sometime in February. This groundbreaking will mark the beginning of the site preparation and foundation work.

These projects are only possible with support from community organizations and businesses and individuals. Major contributors to this project include The Pickaway County Community Foundation, Trinity Lutheran Church, Village Chapel Church, Community United Methodist Church, and the Estate of Roger Crago, past president of Scioto Valley HFH, all of whom will be represented at the groundbreaking.
Scioto Valley HFH is a nonprofit, ecumenical Christian housing ministry seeking to eliminate poverty housing, and to make decent shelter a matter of conscience and action. Habitat invites people of all walks of life to work together in partnerships to build houses with families in need without respect for race or religion. Homeowners pay a small down downpayment as well as sweat equity along with an interest free monthly mortgage, taxes and insurance.
