We have not been able to meet very much due to weather issues. We have prayed with a few people including a newly married couple. One touching encounter was a high school graduate who said he needed prayer. His legal issues had been reduced and he wanted to get his life back on track. He also needed a job since his girlfriend was pregnant. He said Jesus was in his life, but he had done some dumb things. NASB Bible. 1 John 1:8-9
"If we say that we have no sin, we are deceiving ourselves and the truth is not in us.
If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."

We have had prayer with many people with all types of requests since the last post. We attempt to always ask if they really know Jesus.
Here are a few of the requests:
Carolyn - physical healing; Frank - healing, kidney cancer; Kathy - needs a job; Bobby - divorce proceedings, lost home & children; Nickita - family to be drawn to Christ; Michell - son has visions and sees things in the spiritual world; Shema - brother wrongly convicted of a crime; Laverne - brain surgery

We have prayed for many people since our last post. It is amazing the personal needs that people will share with us while we are simply standing on a sidewalk. Most of them come up to us asking for prayer. Others respond to our invitation for prayer.

One young father wanted prayer to be a good dad. As we were preparing to pray an older gentleman who was also dad asked if he could join us. We had a good prayer time and afterwards the older gentleman invited the young dad to come to his church since he was not going to a church. That was the work of the Holy Spirit prompting the young dad. We also prayed with a married couple who were ministers. They requested that we pray for peace in their ministry.

This week we had a lot of physical needs to pray for. One man walked very slowly by us using his cane. He sat down on the bench near us. When he did I saw that his shoe was untied. He also looked very fatigued. I went over and told him that his shoe was untied and asked him if he was having some heart issues. He told me no, that he had kidney cancer and blood clots in his legs. So, we prayed to the Lord fervently for him.

The prayer requests vary from simply asking for a blessing to very serious issues. Our hope when praying is that we encourage those who have asked for prayer to trust the Lord. We also ask if they really know Jesus.

Finally, as we were just ready to put up our table a lady came up who had observed us praying and requested a prayer because she felt the enemy was attacking her and that she had experienced a very difficult week. There were some issues and deaths in her family and she, being the youngest, felt under a lot of pressure. Again, we prayed sincerely in the Holy Spirit for peace for her.

We are back having a fruitful prayer ministry. We have prayed for a great range of people with issues of all types, some even good. For example, we have prayed with several people in drug court, a lady afraid for her safety due to a wayward son, one with a DUI charge, a lady whose dad had died, and her son had been murdered, a judge who desired wisdom and discernment, a man that was out of prison and doing well but he was lonely due to no family connections. He wept openly as we shared with him.
You can be bold and pray with others. It is not so much your words, but the work of the Holy Spirit.

Once again, our Courtside prayer time was very fruitful. We were able to pray with three people with drug related issues. One shared she has been drug free for several months , however her sister is still in active addiction. In addition, their mother is in prison. One you man shared that we had prayed for him when he had many issues. Today he told us he had been drug free for five months. Praise God. We asked him and another young man if drug court was helping them. Both responded yes.

We also prayed for a lady with congestive heart failure as well as others with various issues. One very moving experience was a grandmother whose daughter had just been sentenced. Her granddaughter, one of the convicted mother’s four children, was with her. I asked the little girl her name and then said that God would be with her and watch over her. She then clung to her grandmother with tears streaming down her face. My eyes also filled with tears.

We prayed with or for seven people this past Tuesday. A couple of ladies with whom we prayed with the latter part of September came back today and shared that they see evidence of God moving on their behalf. Both women have health issues and one has a mentally challenged child who also has a drug addiction. Another lady, a single mom with three children, dealing with legal and relationship issues. Yet another lady and her daughter, both diabetics, but the daughter refuses to eat right and won't listen to helpful advice. As a matter of fact, the daughter did not stay around to pray with us. A young man who was suffering some physical health issues and battling to remain free from drug addition. He has been clean 3.5 years, is attending church and seems to be trying to stay the straight and narrow course. The last lady we prayed with was so frustrated trying to get a court order delivered. She has twice paid the court to serve the order to no avail so she just poured her frustration out to us. She just need someone to listen. We then prayed a prayer of peace over her and her whole countenance improved.

Each Tuesday brings unexpected and awesome blessings. Thank God for Tuesdays.

Sylvester and I were blessed today with the opportunity to pray for several people. The first hour began slowly but God soon brought several people for prayer. We prayed with two people, one male and the other female, both wanted to have and to grow in their relationship with Christ. One man prayed with us to accept Christ into his life. He left with a smile on his face. Still another lady had recent surgeries on both her knees. A Nigerian pastor name Joel Ekugwum stopped by to see what we were doing. Pastor then Joel briefly joined us and prayed a powerful prayer for two ladies. One of them had a daughter who suffers a mental illness and also has a drug addition. This lady was also having difficulty with her mortgage. The other one had a granddaughter who has leukemia. Another lady had a problem with her 3 year old child's school. We prayed with her and offered some suggestions. Praise God.

We had a great time of prayer this last Tuesday at Hinds. One thing we have noticed is that no matter how effective our prayer is or may be is not, people are always so appreciative.

Among our prayers we prayed for a young lady holding a baby who felt abused by her baby's father and a lack of support from her mother. One mother was frustrated by her teenager's behavior. A prayer was offered for a a lawyer (a friend we know) and his client on their way to a court appearance. His client has not been allowed by his ex-wife to see his young daughter in over a year. Another man was recovering from a stroke. As we were getting ready to leave a lady with a young boy and a baby asked for prayer for her son/grandson(?) who was shot in the head twice and is in a coma. She also has a step daughter in jail.
We always leave somewhat burdened, yet grateful that the God we serve can help those who sought him as we prayed.
