Good afternoon all. It doesn’t matter what goals you set, what dreams you have or how many amazing things you set out to accomplish this year; if you don’t inaugurate discipline into your daily regimen, this year will be just another average year. Discipline is YOU CONTROLLING WHAT YOU DO, YOUR BEHAVIOR AND THOUGHTS. Discipling is not just following a list of rules, but it involves developing good healthy habits, prioritizing your time and taking responsibility for your own actions. Discipline provides order and structure for your life which are essentials for success! If you’re going to accomplish the goals you’ve set for your life this year, YOU WILL NEED DISCIPLINE TO DO IT! Discipline helps you set necessary boundaries and keeps you organized. Because discipline is the fruit of self control, it protects you from being impulsive (acting without thinking). Impulsive behavior is counter productive for goal oriented purpose driven people. Discipline is not something we were born with. It’s a behavior that is learned and developed. It’s a mindset. It’s how you live everyday. My friends, we have dreams to fulfill and goals to accomplish this year. Sometimes it feels as if we have to fight to do it. That’s why discipline is so crucial, because you can’t always control what happens around you or even what happens to you. You can however, control what happens in you. More important than anything else, we absolutely need discipline in our spiritual lives. We must incorporate consistent daily prayer and communication with God and daily devotion in scripture reading and meditation as part of our daily routines. ALWAYS PUT GOD FIRST (Matthew 6:33). Pray with me. Father, I pray that you will help me to discipline myself, so that I can fulfill all the plans and purposes you’ve already mapped out for my life (Jeremiah 29:11). This is my prayer. In Jesus’ Name. Amen. Suggested bible reading today. Job 22:1-24:25, Proverbs 3:21-35, Matthew 21:18-32.

Good afternoon all. The beginning of the year always seem to breath excitement and amazing new possibilities. We think about a fresh start, new goals, new opportunities and things we want to accomplish. We feel we have a whole year to make it happen for us, but it’s not too long before we’re hit with the realities of life. Yes my friends, life happens, we somehow lose focus and we feel that we’re stuck again! My word to you today is STAY ON TRACK! Staying on track when it seems as if everything and everybody is working against you is a challenge that we all have to face. The good news is, with FAITH IN GOD AND FAITH IN YOURSELF, no matter what life dishes out, you can stay the course. There will always be distractions that have the potential to get you off track, but you have to approach every single day with LASER LIKE FOCUS! In order to stay on track, you have to take responsibility for your own actions. If you get off track somehow, don’t blame someone else, you alone are responsible for what you do! Make yourself accountable to God and accountable to you! To stay on track, stay away from petty, lazy, parasitic people who aren’t goal oriented. They’re happy sitting on the porch, drinking kool-aid talking about the good old days! THAT’S A FOCUS KILLER! To stay on track, connect with like minded people. Remember, your circle of friends is also your circle of influence (read post from Jan. 30). If you’re going to stay on track, rid yourself of procrastination (read post from Jan. 28). To stay on track, prioritize your days. GIVE YOUR DAYS DIRECTION (read post from Jan. 27). One of the best ways to stay on track is LEARN HOW TO SAY NO! We abort too many of our own dreams and goals because we don’t say no often enough (read post from Jan. 24). To stay on track, track your progress. Tracking your progress helps you stay focused. When you’re focused, you don’t waste time and energy (read post from Jan. 20). Lastly my friends, one proven method for staying on track is to CELEBRATE YOURSELF! When you meet goals, accomplish what you set out to accomplish, overcome obstacles and distractions that attempted to take you off course, CELEBRATE YOU! Everyday tell yourself, TODAY WILL BE THE BEST DAY OF MY LIFE! Stay on track my friends. Pray with me. Father, today I pray for focus. I pray that Your will be done in my life. I pray that I will stay focused on the goals that You have guided me to make for myself, and not be sidetracked by life’s distractions nor my own desires. This is my prayer. In Jesus’ name. Suggested bible reading today. Job 19:1-21:34, Psalm 18:1-6, Matthew 21:1-17.

Good morning all. One of the most important decisions you will make for yourself this year is who you surround yourself with. The company we keep has a big impact on the person you become. Do the people you spend the most time with share the same values that you do? Are they guided by the same moral compass? This is crucial, because if you don’t have the right people in your life, you could be heading towards another year of mediocrity! Here’s a test question to help determine if the people in your circle are the right fit for your life. DO THE PEOPLE YOU SPEND THE MOST TIME WITH REFLECT THE PERSON YOU WANT TO BE? The people in your circle will either support or sabotage your quest for the life you want. The relationships we manage and nurture are important. Relationships are investments. Only invest in relationships that add to your life, not subtract from it. If you are the smartest person in your circle of friends, then IT’S TIME TO RETHINK YOUR CIRCLE! If you have more than all of the people you spend the most time with, IT’S TIME TO RETHINK YOUR CIRCLE. I’m not suggesting that you just throw people to the curb, but I am saying that this year, you need to surround yourself around people who are accomplishing what you want and more. Surround yourself around people who are smarter than you! Surround yourself around people who make what you have and what you’re doing seem small. WHY, YOU ASK? Because they will challenge you to step up your game. They will challenge you to stretch yourself. They will inspire you to become! They will add to your growth and development! My friends, if you’re going to live your best life naturally and spiritually this year, don’t feel guilty about being selective with the people in your circle. Understand this; YOUR CIRCLE OF FRIENDS IS ALSO YOUR CIRCLE OF INFLUENCE! Who’s influencing you? You can’t always control who’s around you, but you can control who you choose to be around. Surround yourself with people who dream big and think bigger! Surround yourself with people with gigantic ambition. Whether it’s family, friends, co-workers or even brothers and sisters in Christ, SURROUND YOURSELF AROUND THE BEST! (Proverbs 27:17) (Psalm 1:1-3) Pray with me. Father, I thank you that your presence is with me at all times. Lead me to, and lead to me the people that will add to the life that you have already planned for me (Jeremiah 29:11). Help me to be the right influence for someone else. This is my prayer. In Jesus’ Name. Amen. Suggested bible reading today. Job 15:1-18:21, Psalm 17:13-15, Matthew 20:20-34.

Good afternoon all. Our brains are wired to look for the logic in things. When things make sense to us, it makes us feel better. It’s much easier to do life everyday when all the information we need is at our disposal. The truth of the matter my friends is LIFE DOESN’T ALWAYS MAKE SENSE! How do you make sense of the death of a child? How do you make sense of a young beautiful mother and wife stricken with cancer? How do you make sense of being fired from a job that you gave 20 years of your life to? How do you explain these things? Where is the logic? When you experience things that are senseless to you, it’s sometimes difficult to fathom that the situation will end. When you have no resolution, no answers or explanation, it’s easy to become discouraged, but my friends, DON’T FALL INTO DISPAIR! The enemy will try to torment you and recall every mistake you ever made. Yes, sometimes the trials we face are our fault, but just because life isn’t making sense to you now doesn’t mean that you’re doing something wrong. You can do all the right you know, and life still not cooperate. I can tell you from personal experience that THIS SEASON OF UNCERTAINTY WILL PASS! Life doesn’t always have to make sense in order for you to live and enjoy it. Even our faith in God is at times challenged and tested. Many times, trusting in God means that you have to have faith even when you don’t know what’s going on. God doesn’t always provide us with all of the details, consequently, we don’t always get to see the whole picture. So, from where you’re standing, things just don’t make sense. But my dad, Bishop Clowdell Williams Sr. always say; “it doesn’t have to make sense, as long as it makes faith”. In other words, sometimes the only logic is to just TRUST GOD! When life doesn’t make sense and you just don’t know what to do, hit the rewind button of your life. Remember, this is not the first time you’ve felt this way. God brought you through then, He’ll bring you through this time. When life doesn’t make sense, don’t worry yourself about making sense of it. Throw all of your cares and concerns on God. He cares about every detail of your life (1 Peter 5:7). Pray with me. Father, I thank you that you are an all knowing God. When life doesn’t make sense to me, and I am uncertain about what to do, please show me the way. My faith looks up to thee. I believe that you know and understand all things, and I put my life in your hands. This is my prayer. In Jesus’ Name. Amen. Suggested bible reading today. Job 11:1-14:22, Psalm 17:6-12, Matthew 20:1-19.
