The Lord may be asleep in the boat of your life, but HE’S THERE…always attentive you. Today, give Him the chance to show you His love for you. Happy Sunday!

The School of Love is the Holy Cross on which hung the Teacher who is the Christ who gives His Life that we may live. He sees you through love.

Always be joyful, then, in the Lord; I repeat, be joyful. Let your good sense be obvious to everybody. The Lord is near. Never worry about anything; but tell God all your desires of every kind in prayer and petition shot through with gratitude, and the peace of God which is beyond our understanding will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. Finally, brothers and sisters, let your minds be filled with everything that is true, everything that is honorable, everything that is upright and pure, everything that we love and admire -- with whatever is good and praiseworthy. Keep doing everything you learned from me and were told by me and have heard or seen me doing. Then the God of peace will be with you. (Phil 4:4-9)

Father, your love for us surpasses all our hope and desires. Forgive our failings, keep us in your peace, and lead us always in the way of healing and salvation. We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever. Amen.

St. Peregrine, pray for us.

You can depend on this as worthy of full acceptance: that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners. Of these I myself am the worst. But on that very account I was dealt with mercifully, so that in me, as an extreme case, Jesus Christ might display all his patience, and that I might become an example to those who would later have faith in him and gain everlasting life. To the King of ages, the immortal, the invisible, the only God, be honor and glory forever and ever! Amen. (1 Tim 1:15-17)

The grace of the Lord has been poured forth upon me in great abundance, and has filled me with faith and love.
- Christ Jesus came into this world to save sinners.

Bryce Newman’s story of healing and serving others is a testament to the power of prayer and God’s love.

October 3
Memorial of Blessed Maria Guadalupe Ricart Olmos

Maria Guadalupe was born in Albal, Valencia, Spain on February 23, 1881. Early in life she expressed the desire to dedicate herself entirely to God. In 1896 she was received as a postulant in the convent of contemplative Servite nuns in Valencia. She pronounced her perpetual vows on June 19, 1900. In the convent she held various offices including that of mistress of novices and prioress. Her life was marked by simplicity and fidelity, by her concern to pass on to younger members of the community the values proper to the contemplative life: perfect observance, promotion of the prayer life of the community, availability and charity, and a spirit of penance. When the nuns were forced to leave their convent in 1936 because of the Spanish Civil War, she found refuge with some relatives and later in the home of her sister Filomena. At midnight on October 2, 1936, she was taken by four armed soldiers in a truck and eventually killed simply because she was a nun. At first she was buried in a common grave, but in 1940, after the end of the Civil War, her remains were transferred to the convent cemetery. When a new convent was built in Mislata, they were taken and placed beside the main altar. She was beatified by Pope John Paul II on March 11, 2001.

PRAYER
Father, our lives are in your hands. By the mysterious design of your love, Blessed Maria Guadalupe, faithful disciple and enclosed Servant of Saint Mary, shared in the passion of Christ. Grant that we may comprehend the mystery of the Son of Man and follow his path on the narrow way that leads to life who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit one God, for ever and ever.

Reflecting on HEALING RELATIONSHIPS: ST. PEREGRINE AND LOVED ONES. A fine morning of reflection & prayer. I am praying for all of you.

For none of us lives for himself and none of us dies for himself; while we are alive, we are living for the Lord, and when we die, we die for the Lord: and so, alive or dead, we belong to the Lord. It was for this purpose that Christ both died and came to life again: so that he might be Lord of both the dead and the living. (Rom 14:7-9)

Almighty God, our creator and guide, may we serve you with all our heart and know your healing and forgiveness in our lives. We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you and Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever. Amen.

St. Peregrine, pray for us.

When the reckoning began, they brought him a man who owed ten thousand talents; he had no means of paying, so his master gave orders that he should be sold, together with his wife and children and all his possessions, to meet the debt. At this, the servant threw himself down at his master's feet, with the words "Be patient with me and I will pay the whole sum." And the servant's master felt so sorry for him that he let him go and canceled the debt. (Mt 18:24-27)

In today’s Gospel we hear the parable of the unmerciful servant, a man who was forgiven the huge debt he owed, but refused to forgive a small debt owed to him. In light of God’s great forgiveness of us, what debts do we still hold on to? What debts do we refuse to let go of?

"Be generous to one another, sympathetic, forgiving each other as readily as God forgave you in Christ." Eph 4:32

Forgive us our trespasses
- As we forgive those who trespass against us.
