“Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever.”
— Psalm 107:1
We give thanks to Almighty God for His gracious presence and guidance throughout the Pastors’ and Leaders’ Retreat at Gangtok, Sikkim, from 25th to 27th September 2026. A total of 47 people were part of the retreat, including our Bishop, pastors, and executive members of the Diocese of Rajasthan, C.N.I.
The programme included devotions comprising of praise and worship, along with short homilies led by our Bishop, Rt. Rev. Raimson Victor. These times of devotion were opportunities for learning and reflection on our calling as servants of Christ, encouraging the pastors and leaders to remain dedicated in their zeal to serve and honour Christ.
The programme was further graced by the presence of Rt. Rev. Roshan Thapa, Bishop of the Eastern Himalayan Diocese, Church of North India. Through his insightful and thought-provoking homily, delivered with a touch of humour, he exhorted all the pastors to engage in ministry by addressing the needs of people holistically. He exegeted the Mission Statement of the Church of North India, highlighting the importance of having a panoramic and contextual understanding of ministry. He also shared practical guidance with the pastors regarding various aspects of Church ministry.
Apart from the devotional sessions and discussions, the retreat also included visits to various sightseeing places in and around Gangtok. One of the major highlights of the trip was the visit to Nathu La Pass, the mountain pass along the India–China border. These experiences provided a wonderful opportunity for fellowship, and enjoying the beauty of God’s creation.
The successful completion of the retreat would not have been possible without the dedicated efforts of several individuals. We express our sincere gratitude to Mr. Naveen Pradhan, a local resident of Gangtok, who made arrangements for our accommodation and extended his valuable assistance throughout our stay. We also express our heartfelt thanks to Mr. Anil Paul, Executive Member of the Diocese of Rajasthan, C.N.I., for coordinating the entire trip with dedication and commitment. We are equally grateful to all the office bearers of the Diocese of Rajasthan, C.N.I., and to our Bishop for their leadership, support, and efforts in making this retreat a success.
Truly, this retreat has been a testimony to God’s faithfulness and grace in the life and ministry of the Diocese of Rajasthan.
