One of the most meaningful moments of the Pilgrimage of Discovery is when the young adults have a chance to meet with His-All-Holiness in his throne room. This is an experience that very few Orthodox Christians have in their lifetime. We are fortunate that we have a leader who ensures he connects with each generation 💙

Our Pilgrimage of Discovery participants had the incredible blessing of visiting the historic Halki Theological School in Constantinople. This is a place that has shaped generations of Orthodox leaders and remains a powerful symbol of faith, learning, and hope.

As our pilgrims walked its peaceful grounds and reflected on its rich legacy, they were reminded of the enduring strength of our Orthodox faith and the importance of preserving this sacred institution for future generations.

We join countless faithful around the world in praying and hoping that Halki Theological School will soon reopen its doors, allowing it to once again fulfill its historic mission of educating and forming the next generation of Orthodox clergy and leaders.

Day 2 of our Pilgrimage of Discovery brought us deeper into the rich history and living faith of the Orthodox Church in Constantinople.

We began at Panayias ton Vlahernon, the site where the miraculous spring still flows and where the Akathist Hymn (“Tē Hypermachō”) was first chanted in thanksgiving to the Theotokos. Standing in such a sacred place and singing those same words was an unforgettable experience.

Our journey continued to Hagios Demetrios in Kuruçeşme, the historic Monastery of the Life-Giving Spring (Zoodochos Pigi) in Balıklı, and Panagia Koumariotisa, each preserving centuries of Orthodox worship and tradition.

We also visited the breathtaking Chora Church (Kariye), renowned for its extraordinary Byzantine mosaics and frescoes that beautifully depict the life of Christ and the Virgin Mary.

The day concluded with Vespers alongside His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, a reminder that the Orthodox faith continues to flourish in the city where so much of its history unfolded.

Every church, every prayer, and every moment continues to deepen our understanding of the beauty, resilience, and legacy of Orthodoxy.

We also continued to have amazing fellowship by the Bosporus with delicious food! Soaking up all of the memories.
