Devotion: Just Get It Done
Overseer Jay T. Harrison and Pastor Kenion thank you for your diligence and work that you both poured into True Vine on Saturday I am inspired to "Just Get it Done!"

Oftentimes, in our daily lives, we face challenges and responsibilities that can feel overwhelming. The call to "just get it done" can sometimes seem like a hard task. However, as followers of Christ, we can find strength and motivation in His Word.

Scriptures
1. Colossians 3:23-24 (NIV) “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.”

2. Philippians 4:13 (NIV) “I can do all this through him who gives me strength.”

3. Proverbs 16:3 (NIV) “Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans.”

Points to Reflect On
1. Work with Purpose- Colossians 3:23-24 reminds us that our work is not merely for earthly recognition but is an act of service to the Lord. When we approach our tasks with this mindset, we infuse our work with purpose and passion.

2. Strength in Christ: Philippians 4:13 reassures us that we are not alone in our efforts. Whatever challenges lie ahead, we can lean on Christ's strength to carry us through. This means that the tasks we face are not just burdens; they are opportunities to experience His power in our lives.

3. Commitment Brings Clarity- Proverbs 16:3 encourages us to commit our actions to the Lord. By seeking His guidance and committing our plans to Him, we can gain clarity and direction. This commitment helps us to focus on what truly matters, enabling us to tackle our responsibilities with confidence.

4. Break It Down-Sometimes, the idea of getting everything done can be overwhelming. Break tasks into smaller, manageable steps. This approach not only makes the workload seem lighter but also allows for a sense of accomplishment as each small task is completed.

5. Embrace the Process - Remember that the journey of completing tasks is as important as the end result. Embrace the learning and growth that come with each challenge. God often uses these moments to shape our character and deepen our faith.

Prayer
Heavenly Father, thank You for the strength and purpose You provide in every task we undertake. Help us to commit our work to You and to approach each responsibility with a heart full of joy and dedication. May we find peace in knowing that we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us. Guide our steps and help us to see the value in every moment of our labor. In Jesus' name, we pray, Amen. Thankfulness

Scripture Reading1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 - "Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus."

Thankfulness should be more than a passing emotion; thankfulness is a transformative practice that shapes my perspective and deepens my relationship with God. In the hurriedness of daily life, it’s easy for me to focus on what’s lacking or what’s gone wrong. However, You are cultivating a heart of gratitude in me that can and is shifting my focus towards the blessings that surround me, even in challenging times.

David, despite facing numerous trials, often paused to thank God for His faithfulness. In Psalm 100:4, David said: "Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name." This practice of entering into God’s presence with thankfulness opens our hearts to His grace and

1. Daily Gratitude Journal: Take a few moments each day to write down two one thing you are thankful for. This will help recognize the small blessings that are often overlooked.

2. Thankful Prayers: Incorporate thankfulness into your prayers. Rather than only bringing requests to God, we should take the time to express gratitude for His provision, love, and presence in your life.

3. Acts of Kindness: Show gratitude by serving others (not to simply be seen either). Acts of kindness are a powerful way to express thankfulness and can create a ripple effect of gratitude within our community.

Prayer:

Father, thank You for Your endless blessings in my life and the lives of others. Help me to cultivate a heart of gratitude, recognizing Your goodness in every circumstance that comes my way. Teach me to rejoice always and give thanks in all things. May my life be a reflection of Your love and grace.

As I practice thankfulness, let me remember that it is not only a response to my circumstances but a choice to see the goodness of God in every moment. I want to embrace thankfulness as a lifestyle, and watch how You transform my heart and mind. Amen Copyright 2024 Crystal D. Crystal Denise Harrison

Restoration in the Midst of a Trial

Scripture
2 Corinthians 12:9-10

Paul speaks about his weaknesses and how God’s grace is sufficient. Our trials can and should lead us to deeper dependence on God and ultimately guide us to a greater purpose for Him in Him

In life, we all experience moments of challenges, failure, disappointment, or loss. It’s easy to view these times as setbacks, but what if we choose to reframe those times as opportunities for restoration? Each test, trial, and testimony can lead us to a place where we confront our vulnerabilities and allow God to transform and strengthen us right in the midst of where we are in life.
Points to consider during a test

1. Acknowledgment of the Fall
- Recognize and accept that falling is a part of the human experience. Everyone faces failures and setbacks.

2. Embrace Vulnerability
- Understand that vulnerability can lead to growth. It’s okay to feel hurt or disappointed; these emotions can draw us closer to God.

3.God’s Grace is Sufficient
- Reflect on 2 Corinthians 12:9, where God says, “My grace is sufficient for you.” Trust that His grace covers our shortcomings and failures.

4. Learn from the Experience
- Consider what lessons can be drawn from the fall. Ask yourself what you can do differently in the future.

5. Seek Support
- Reach out to friends, family, or a faith community for encouragement. We are not meant to walk this journey alone.

6. Focus on Restoration
- Meditate on the idea that every fall can lead to restoration. God can turn our failures into testimonies of His faithfulness.

7. Get Back Up
- Take proactive steps to rise again. This may involve setting new goals or changing your approach.

8. Reaffirm Your Identity in Christ
- Remind yourself that your identity is rooted in Christ, not in your failures. You are loved and valued regardless of your mistakes.

9. Practice Gratitude
- Cultivate a spirit of gratitude for the lessons learned and the strength gained through the process.

10. Pray for Strength
- Always seek the Father asking for the strength to rise again, the wisdom to learn from experiences, and the grace to move forward.

Prayer
Heavenly Father, thank You for being with me in my moments of failure. Help me to see my falls as stepping stones to restoration. Grant me the grace to rise again, transformed and renewed by Your love. May my weaknesses reveal Your strength in my life.

Closing Thought
Remember, our challenges and trials do not define us; rather, they are part of a greater narrative that God is weaving into our lives; a narrative of grace, redemption, and ultimately, restoration. Please embrace your journey!

Morning Prayer Devotion:

Faithfulness in the Face of Adversity

Trusting God in the midst of difficult circumstances is a testament to our faith. Let us commit to relying on His promises, knowing that He is always with us and is working for our good. As we navigate through life’s challenges, may our trust in Him shine brightly, reflecting His love and faithfulness to those around us.

1. Proverbs 3:5-6
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight."
- This encourages us to place our full trust in God, regardless of our circumstances. When we rely on His wisdom rather than our limited understanding, we pave the way for His direction in our lives.

2. Isaiah 41:10
"So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand."
-God reassures us that He is present even in our darkest moments. Trusting Him means acknowledging His presence and strength in our lives, which can sustain us through any trial.

3.Romans 8:28
"And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose."
-A powerful promise reminds that us that God is at work in every situation, turning even our struggles into something good. Trusting Him involves believing that He has a purpose behind our pain.

4. Philippians 4:6-7
"Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."
- Our times of worry, we must bring our concerns to God. Trusting Him brings peace that surpasses human understanding, even when our circumstances are challenging.

5. 2 Corinthians 5:7
"For we live by faith, not by sight."
-Our faith in God is not contingent on what we see around us. Trusting God means believing in His goodness and faithfulness, even when our circumstances seem bleak.

Prayer
Father, thank You for Your unchanging nature and faithfulness. Help us to trust You in every circumstance that we face. When we feel overwhelmed, remind us to lean on Your strength and wisdom not what we perceive as our own. Teach us to see beyond our present challenges and to trust that You are working for our good. Fill us with Your peace that surpasses understanding. In Jesus’ name, Amen. Copyright 2024 Crystal D Harrison

Finding Peace in the Storm

Scripture Reading
_"When I am afraid, I put my trust in you." Psalm 56:3

Reflection:
In moments of fear and uncertainty, it’s natural to feel overwhelmed. The recent shooting near our school was a reminder of the fragility of life and the unexpected challenges we face. However, it’s essential to remember that even in the darkest moments, there is hope and strength to be found.

Jesus often spoke of peace, encouraging His followers not to be troubled. In John 14:27, He says, “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled, and do not be afraid.”

This peace is not the absence of fear but the presence of trust. Trust in God’s protection, His love, and His ultimate plan for our lives. It’s okay to feel afraid, but we can choose to lean into our faith, finding comfort in the Fathet

Prayer:
Father, in this time of fear and uncertainty, we come to You seeking comfort and peace. Help us to trust in Your protection and love even when the challenges of life occur. Surround those who are hurting or lost with Your healing presence. May we seek your strength and wisdom. Father, we know that in times like these, it's important to run to You, but also come together as a community, ministry, and family to support each other. Your Word says that to restore in the spirit of meekness, use me to restore. Please share Your humility and love with me so that I can share it with the world. Thank you for never leaving nor forsaking me, Father. I will continue to praise Your mighty name as You are so worthy of the praise and honor. In Jesus Mighty Name, Amen.

Devotion: Hush and Listen

Scripture Reading:

1. Psalm 46:10 - "Be still, and know that I am God."

2. 1 Kings 19:12- "After the earthquake came a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire. And after the fire came a gentle whisper."

3. James 1:19 - "My dear brothers and sisters, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry."

Father, In our fast-paced world, filled with noise and distractions, it’s easy to lose sight of the importance of silence and listening. The call to "hush and listen" reminds us to pause and create space for Your voice in our lives. Amen

1. Be Still:
Psalm 46:10 invites us to be still, emphasizing the necessity of quietness in recognizing God's sovereignty. When we hush the chaos around us, we open our hearts to His presence.

2. The Gentle Whisper:
In 1 Kings 19:12, God’s voice is found not in the dramatic events but in a gentle whisper. It’s a reminder that often, the most profound messages come in moments of quiet reflection. When we take time to listen, we may find God speaking in ways we least expect.

3. Listening with Intention:
James 1:19 encourages us to be quick to listen. This applies not only to our interactions with others but also in our relationship with God. Listening requires us to set aside our own agendas and distractions, allowing us to truly hear what He has to say.

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, help us to find moments of stillness in our busy lives. Teach us to hush our hearts and listen for Your gentle whisper. May we be quick to listen, slow to speak, and ever aware of Your presence. Amen
