Hope is a strange thing. It doesn't always come with proof. It doesn't wait for circumstances to get easier before it shows up.

It just... holds.

We've been reflecting on that lately — watching people in hard places choose to care for one another anyway. Choose to keep going. Choose to build something, even when the ground feels uncertain.

There's a verse we keep coming back to: "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to give you hope and a future." — Jeremiah 29:11

We believe that. Not just as words, but as something we've watched lived out in real time.

A couple of weeks ago, our team packed and delivered staple food to 500 families across Cuba—rice, beans, oil. Simple, essential items meant to sustain families for more than just a few days.

The need is real right now. Ongoing power outages, fuel shortages, and very limited access to basic goods have made daily life increasingly difficult for many.

But what stayed with us wasn’t just the need.

It was something quieter.

Neighbors showing up for one another.
People working side by side to pack and deliver each box.
The care given to simple staples, knowing how much they matter.

If you’ve spent any time in Cuba, you see it quickly—there’s a kind of grit here. A resourcefulness. People don’t just get by. They find ways to live, to share, to care for each other even when things are hard.

In this season, that hasn’t changed. If anything, it’s become more visible.

Community hasn’t disappeared—it’s deepened.
There’s resilience here. A steady commitment to one another. Small, meaningful moments of light.

Grateful for the local leaders and volunteers who make this work possible every day. More stories to come.

We are still celebrating the best day on the church calendar - Easter! We continue to hold on to the resurrection God’s decisive act of love for the world.

Because Jesus gave His life and rose again, hope is a living reality. It is carried into the world’s hardest places through faithful local leaders who serve their communities with courage, compassion, and truth.

Through your partnership, this hope is being made visible across 19 countries as the local church faithfully serves communities, sharing the Gospel in both word and action.

In Beirut, families are sleeping along roadsides after fleeing their homes.

Through local partners, the Church is present — serving meals each day, providing clothing and care, opening homes to those in need, and delivering heating fuel to families staying in shelters.

There is both heaviness and hope here. The road ahead is long, but the community continues to show up for one another.

If you’ve been looking for a way to help, this is a meaningful moment to do so. A $100,000 matching gift is in place, doubling every contribution.

Your support today can help provide warmth, food, and care to families who have lost everything.

As we watch the news of the escalating conflict with Iran, our hearts are heavy for the families across the Middle East who are once again facing a wave of fear, displacement, and uncertainty.

While the situation is deeply sobering, we want to share a different perspective: The Church is active. At Open Eyes, we are staying in close communication with our local partners on the ground. These courageous men and women are not retreating; they are stepping up to provide relief and the hope of the Gospel to those who are suffering most in the midst of this chaos.

Will you join our community in prayer during this critical hour?

1️⃣ Protect the Vulnerable: We pray for the safety of innocent civilians caught in the crossfire. We ask that the loss of life would be minimized significantly and that God would provide a shield of protection over the most vulnerable.

2️⃣ Open Doors in the Crisis: We know that God often moves powerfully in seasons of disruption. Pray that He uses this moment to create new opportunities for the Gospel to reach hearts that were previously closed.

3️⃣ Agents of Peace: Pray that the local Church across the region reflects the heart of Jesus—bringing healing, reconciliation, and practical help to divided and hurting communities.

4️⃣ Even in these uncertain times, our vision remains unchanged. We believe that through your prayers, lives and communities can be transformed by the light of Christ.

Thank you for standing with us and with the people of the Middle East. Please feel free to share this post to invite others into this circle of prayer.

Many of you have seen the headlines about Cuba fuel shortages, rolling blackouts, schools closing, transportation stopped.

Over the past few days, we’ve been hearing from local leaders about what this means for families. Electricity comes in short, unpredictable windows. Work hours have been reduced. Access to food, medical care, and basic supplies has become harder.

It’s a difficult season.

And yet, we’re also hearing about neighbors checking on one another. Churches visiting homes. Families sharing what little they have.

Please join us in praying for Cuba, for the elderly and vulnerable, for workers and students navigating disruption, and for strength and provision in the days ahead.

Standing together in prayer truly matters.

Mission isn’t always loud or dramatic. Most of the time, it looks like showing up again and again. Listening well. Walking with people through everyday life.
That’s how we approach our work at Open Eyes. We believe in steady presence, humility, and long-term commitment, often long before there are any visible results.
Lasting impact grows out of faithfulness. And it happens when we choose to walk with people, not just measure outcomes.

“I will walk with integrity of heart.” — Psalm 101

Integrity is often quiet. It shows up in the small, unseen decisions that shape how we treat people and how we carry responsibility.

At Open Eyes, trust is something we work to earn; through transparency, honesty, and consistency with those who walk alongside this mission.

We believe faithfulness in these things is essential to lasting Kingdom work.

The local church is where faith takes root and grows. It’s where new believers are discipled, families are cared for, and leaders are shaped to serve their communities with wisdom and compassion.

Each church planted by a Mobile Messenger becomes a steady, faithful presence; teaching Scripture, walking alongside neighbors, and building hope that lasts.

Healthy churches create lasting Gospel roots.

We are incredibly grateful for the ways you supported and prayed for Open Eyes at the close of 2025.

Because of your generosity, we not only reached our $2 million year-end goal, we surpassed it, raising $2.2 million, including a $250,000 matching gift. These gifts will help equip over 1,200 Mobile Messengers, strengthen 9 Life Centers, and expand Gospel presence in the hardest places in 2026.

I recorded a short video to personally say thank you and share how much your partnership means to our team and to the communities we serve.
