Barstool and Pastor in the same sentence. How did the whole thing start… well I have a ton of experience in bars shooting pool and shooting the breeze. The first ten years in the bar was for me. The next ten were for God. Think about it, you can walk in to any bar in the world and order a beer and you’re just like everyone else. Buy someone a beer and you’re in the family. try meets real life and cultivates a conversation trust in Jesus. I walked beside and show up for men and women who have no pastor, church or community group. From the hospital to the graveside service, birth to baptism and everyday between. I offer what Jesus gave me, a place where I can pray for and love on those God puts in front of me. Where I do what God made me to do…take Living Water to the thirsty sinner lost deep in the desert. You’re going to ordain me? What in the world are you guys thinking? Was the first thought crashing in on me when I received the email from Dan Sutherland, Senior Pastor of Next Level informing me of their decision to bring me under their auspice as a pastor of God’s word. Me a pastor at all is a completely mind blowing concept. I have little to no formal seminary training. I didn’t really, really know Jesus until I was 40 years old and it has been 18 years of life changing experiences I could have never imagined.

This is one of my first post. I was at Our Place in Charlotte. We hadn’t found a place for worship yet. Shortly after this post we started church at Westside Tavern. Wow! Thank you Jesus. Looks like we made it. Join us at In The Wind Bar Sunday 11:00 am for Barstool Church. barstool

The bar, watering hole, Our Place, or den of sin. Whatever you call it, for me it is where trust and hope meet.

I want to show people how to find it. Don't Just drink. Drink for the true thirst inside of all of us. Yes instead of no and no instead of yes. We know which ones are which.

If not asked the Holy Spirit. If not let me pray with you. You will be refreshed or under extreme discomfort.

The key is in your hand. Are you going to sit there in your cell or are you going to use it? Amen Pj
