Tomorrow! We are ready to celebrate our risen King! Join us at 10am at Socrates Academy - 3909 Weddington Rd, Matthews, NC 28105.

On Friday at 7pm, we will gather at Socrates for a Tenebrae service, in which we hear and meditate on the seven last words of Christ before his death. The service begins with seven lit candles, and as each word is read, one candle is extinguished, until we join with creation in the darkness of the deepest fracturing humanity has ever known.

It's Maundy Thursday! Today, we remember the night when Jesus shared his last meal with his disciples, washed their feet, prayed over them, and gave them a new commandment: "As I have loved you, so you must love one another."

We'll gather this evening at Lake Pointe Hall for our Maundy Thursday dinner—details on Church Center!

Sunday is the start of Holy Week, and you are invited to join us for Holy Week services at Redeemer! We will continue in our Fractured series, looking at the Liturgy of the Passion and beginning to walk with Jesus through his last week before the crucifixion.

In discovering the wholeness God wants for us, we become more aware of the way things currently are—disintegrated, fragmented, broken, fractured. Lent offers us an opportunity to face these realities, to witness Jesus live in wholeness while living in the broken world, and to follow him to receive the same wholeness. This series follows the Revised Common Lectionary, taking a closer look at some of the people who encountered Jesus in John's gospel, and how he invited them to release their fracturedness and receive his wholeness.

Yet even now, says the Lord, return to me with all your hearts, with fasting, with weeping, and with sorrow; tear your hearts and not your clothing. Return to the Lord your God, for he is merciful and compassionate, very patient, full of faithful love, and ready to forgive. [Joel 2:12-13]

Every year, at the start of Lent, we are invited to return to the Lord and receive his forgiveness. Please join us for our Ash Wednesday service at 7pm on Wednesday, February 18! We will gather at Socrates for singing, scripture reading, and the imposition of ashes.

We’ve made the decision again this week to cancel our worship gathering for Sunday, February 1. ❄️

Since this is the second week in a row that we will miss meeting together, Lem has put together a Home Liturgy to guide you through family worship in your own homes tomorrow. We sent the guide via email today. We hope to see you next week!

It’s looking like we *might* get some snow this weekend, which may necessitate canceling our worship gathering for this Sunday. We will be monitoring the weather forecasts for the upcoming weekend and make a decision about our Sunday gathering on Saturday evening at the latest.
