WE REMEMBER. WE HONOR. WE SHINE.
On this solemn anniversary of September 11, 2001, The Harvest Center of Charlotte stands in remembrance of the lives lost, the families forever changed, and the heroes who rose with courage in the face of unimaginable tragedy.
As one who served as a Major inside the Pentagon that morning—remaining in the Army Operations Center during and after the attack—I carry memories that continue to shape my faith, my leadership, and my calling. In the midst of smoke, fear, and uncertainty, God revealed Himself in undeniable ways.
From my journal that night, I wrote:
“I saw God today… It took a tragic event, a plane crashing into the Pentagon.”
Even in the darkest hour, God’s presence broke through—in the bravery of first responders, in the unity of strangers, and in the steadfast resolve of service members who refused to abandon their post.
Today, as we navigate challenging and uncertain times, the call to believers remains clear:
The darker the night, the brighter the light.
Let us continue to allow the light of Christ to shine boldly, compassionately, and consistently.
At The Harvest Center of Charlotte, we embrace this calling as The Lighthouse of Transformation—a beacon of hope, healing, and renewal for our city. We stand committed to shining Christ’s light into every place where brokenness, need, and despair still exist.
WE WILL NEVER FORGET.
AND WE WILL NEVER STOP SHINING.
