Can music tell a story without saying a word?
Have you ever listened to a piece of music and felt a story unfolding, even without lyrics to guide you?
This Sunday, our bell choir will perform Grazioso by Arnold Sherman, a powerful piece written in dedication to Norma Taubert Brown, a fellow handbell ringer. Through the music, Sherman reflects on Norma's life, her struggle with cancer, her passing, and the peace found in heaven.
As you listen on Sunday, we invite you to listen closely. Notice how the music moves and changes, and consider how Sherman uses the bells to reflect the different moments of Norma's journey. What do you hear in the music? Where do you sense struggle, sorrow, or peace?
